This is an 8 year old thread...

So? I figured to post my question here rather than create a new one esp since it was related to what I wanted to know. In any case, the user resubmitted so no harm, no foul.

This has come up again and I'm still a bit confused and the rules don't help. So there is a contribution up for the DC Universe box set (containing 30 animated movies, along with 1 bonus disc). The movies range from PG to PG13 to R. I always assumed (and I could very well be wrong, misinterpreting the rules) in this kind of thing, NR was the one, but the rules also say to use the highest rating, so the contribution changed it to R.

Now, in the long run, for me anyway, it's not a big deal as I can lock in the NR, but the rules aren't exactly clear because in one part it does say to use the highest rating, but in the box set section, says "If the Box Set has a rating, use it in the profile. If it does not, use NR as the rating. Exception: If any disc in the set is rated Adult, list the set as Adult". The box set itself doesn't have a rating, just listing all the ratings from the movies included.

I know there was a topic around these parts somewhere at one point that discussed Scream Factory. The label that was created and run by Shout! Factory.

Not sure of the answer myself, but the only time I've seen it referred, doing a Google search, was this thread:

I think it has a lot to do with the what the director wants, along with the DoP.

Like I said, it's the same director and DP for the second and third movies. Although, looking over his filmography, based on IMDb, he does seem to switch from 1.85 to 2.35.

War for the Planet of the Apes (2.35)
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (1.85)
Let Me In (2.35)
Cloverfield (1.85)
The Pallbearer (1.85)

looking over the trilogy of the latest 'Planet of the Apes series  from 2011 / 2014  and 2017.,

Can't believe that the second installment from 2014  is in 1.85:1

and the other two are  2.35:1 -re:  aspect ratio..

can you imagine if any other  trilogy was filmed like that.. I wonder why??

Yeah, that is strange. If not for Reeves directing the third one, the difference from the first to second could be explained. Even looked it up and 2 and 3 had the same DP.

I've been contributing profiles more lately, and I recently had one declined (the reason given was "Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were non-specific. Please specify the exact source for your changes. (e.g. "Credits from film end credit list", "Previous version UPC#1111111111")"). While I'd be more than happy to give those sources, I can't seem to find a way to edit the contribution after it was declined. Is there a way for me to do so that I'm just not seeing? To answer the question before it's asked, I can't just easily resubmit the profile because I modify them quite a bit to suit my preferences.

Tangentially related, I collect primarily DVD's and to streamline my contribution process, I copy the cast and crew information from the Blu-Ray profile. Is there an easy way to acquire the UPC from the BR profile for validation, besides going to the cover scans and writing it down?

You have to resubmit with the appropriate note about the sources.

As for the second, you can go to DVD on the top menu, select "Change UPC/Locality" and highlighted will be that profile's UPC, then just CTR+C (Copy) and CTR-V (Paste) into the contribution notes page.

I can't quite remember how we handle these. I got this in today and wondered if it should be treated as a box set with a blank parent profile and then child profiles for the two cuts? Or would the Extended Cut be in the parent profile and the Special Edition as the only child?

Some info, the extended cut is Not Rated (and thus would be entered as Unrated... or would it since this Extended Cut was made for TV airing, so would it be entered as Television?) but does not have any features. The Special Edition has features and is rated PG. Also, each cut has its own disc.

That's what I thought, though would like to know the two people who voted featurette.

Side question to this, what about the features on Shout Factory releases? They call them interviews on the back and it is a sit down interview with the actor talking but intercut are clips from the movie. I see those entered as featurettes.

HOWEVER, on more than one occasion, when I've entered these things as Interviews, I get shot down with no votes from folks saying that because there's a five second clip of the film during the interview, that makes it a featurette.

Yeah, I generally get Shout releases early and enter them as interviews but they get changed to featurettes. No biggie, I just lock it and keep it local.

Sounds like interview to me as well... as long as there is no clips from the show included then it is an interview. With clips from the show it becomes a featurette. At least that is how I always did it.

Although I'm not sure I agree with this clips from the show position (see previous post for some explanation and I believe my position is backed up by the contribution rules), in this case, I personally have never seen anything inserted into any of these comic-con panels ever. There of course COULD be, but not in any of the ones I've seen.

Yeah, on the bolded part, after an intro setting up the comic-con locale, it's just the cast/producers talking and answering questions why the latest season of their show is the best yet (until the next season, of course).

No voting conflict here, I've gotten several Warner season Blu-rays recently and most have Comic-Con panels which is just cast and a few producers/writers at a table on stage answering a variety of questions from the moderator. So, is this a featurette or interviews? I'm thinking the latter but wanted others inputs.

So, this one is up for vote (both ways, one for the 4K another for the BD) and I was wondering, how should this be entered? Kong Skull Island or Kong: Skull Island? FWIW, the credit block on the inner back cover (the slip doesn't have a credit block) says "Kong: Skull Island".

And here is the front cover itself (the title is the same on all formats):
