All "common names" have been carefully researched: first and foremost by checking against other credits using the NameVariants plugin, followed by a Google search, and finally by checking at various on-line resources like allmovie.com, tcmdb.com, imdb.com, wikipedia.org and bfi.org.uk. | | Posted: | | | | The current profile has a cast entry (episode #2) for "George Cheung, credited as George Kee Cheung". Further research has shown me that this actor is credited far more often WITH the middle "Kee" - like he is here - than he is without it. For instance, he is credited as "George Kee Cheung" in episodes of 'The A-Team', 'Airwolf', 'Arrested Development', 'Hart to Hart', 'Knight Rider', 'Seinfeld' and in the feature films 'Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me', 'Sneakers', 'Starsky & Hutch' and 'Lethal Weapon 4'. There are, of course, many more examples, but these are just a bunch that I was able to verify personally. I therefore suggest we use the full "George Kee Cheung" as his common name, and as such, he can simply be entered AS CREDITED into this particular profile. Similarly, there is a credit for "Marika Van Kampen, credited as Mariko Van Kampen". Further research has shown me that she's credited as the latter EVERY SINGLE TIME, and as such, I consider that to be her correct common name. Further research has shown me that I don't own a single profile in which he's actually credited WITH this middle initial - instead, he's credited WITHOUT it every single time, like he is here, and in the 2nd/4th 'Magnum P.I.' seasons. I therefore suggest using "Robert Silva" as his "common name", and as a result, he can simply be entered here AS CREDITED. The same goes for "Earl Kingston, credited as Earll Kingston". First, I thought the double LL in "Earll" was a simple type - hence the use of the "credited as" field to indicate this. But I have now re-checked season three of 'Magnum P.I.', in which the same actor appears again, and he's credited as "Earll" there again. Therefore, I now do not longer feel this is a typo, but I think "Earll Kingston" is his real, correct name. That way, he too can simply be entered here AS CREDITED.
