Just for the record, the Swedish keyboard layout does not contain apostrophe, only accent and single quotation mark. I'm sure that many other keyboard layouts also lack apostrophe.

I bet that many people don't know the difference, and even if they do, not many are likely to go fiddling with Alt-nnnn (whatever) instead of using the single quote, if they don't have an apostrophe on their keyboard. And I personally will not correct such entries.

That said, I'm not going to vote No when someone changes single quotes to apostrophes (where applicable). But I will vote no when someone changes it the wrong way.

In my mind, though, this whole thing falls under the "significant value" question.
