Hi,

with the version 2.x of DVD Profiler, when we contribute a cover and changement in the profiles, it made 2 contributions and so we was able to vote YES for the cover and NO for the profile because there were errors. But now, it's the same contribution and it's impossible to vote YES for the cover or profiles and NO to the other. I think it was better before...
What do you think about that ?

Cyrille

I agree! I don't like to vote NO for a contribution when the only problem is the cover or vice versa. Ideally we could vote independently for every section of the contribution (like title, cast, cover etc.).

Some of my recent contributions received "No" Votes either directed only at the profile data (typos or such) or only at the scans (better ones already pending, wrong edition). Depending on the reasons given for the "No" Votes, the corresponding part of the submission was declined, the other part was approved.

As long as everyone provides a substantial reason for their "No" Vote, and not some ill-advised blah-blah comment, I think Gerri and Ken are very much willing and able to approve exactly those parts of a submission, that benefit the online db and keep the faulty data out.

As long as everyone takes their voting responsibility serious (especially when it comes to "No"-Votes), I don't think it's necessary to have two seperate steps.

I can see that it works perfectly with the current set-up.

Ok good to know that but I think it make more time to approve a profile for Ken and Gerri than a separate contribution for cover and profile.

Ken said in this post that he might be able to separate the votes, but it doesn't look like it will be soon.
