I have just received an updated profile for UPC 9315841995226. (Dances with Wolves R4). This DVD had an original release with one cover image and was later released with new cover images with the same UPC. When submitted it received three negative votes on the basis that the new cover images were for the re-issue not the original that was already in the database. No positive votes were received. Nonetheless it has been approved and released. What gives?

In general that would only be passed if the existing images were of so low quality or size the UPC could not be validated.  If that's not the case here it may simply be a mistake.

Ken,

The existing images are of very low quality. I should get off my backside and scan some fresh ones. The problem is that I have been focusing on improving and contributing the data which is more time consuming. For reference, here is a link to the original cover:

and the re-issue:

According to the old dvd profiler, the blue cover was an australian release and the gold cover was a new zealand release.
Is it possible we're just missing the new zealand release from the new database?

No they are both definitely Australian releases. If you look at the links that I provided in an earlier post, they are both still for sale in AU.

Do they even do a DVD release for kiwis? I didn't know that they had DVD players yet.
