As a user in his eight year this has happened before. I hope if Ken is going to move 2,4/2.5 db over that only moves those profiles that are not already here in 3.0. I too have lost some data in the conversion and many of the profiles in the 3.0 db are not up to snuff. I hope this move occurs very soon, so we can all chip in to get this db as good as possible.

If you are concerned about your data is keep your data locked and compare/check each profile before you update it from the online db.
We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own.

No sweat. Ken already stated that no 3.0 profile will be overwitten by its 2.X counterpart.

While I understand the point of losing the credit for making contributions, to me the biggest loss is the contribution HISTORY of all of the profiles.  That information was important, pointing out errors between the case and actual disc in respect to aspect ratio and run time to name a couple. Now, someone looks at a profile contribution history and they see New Contribution, fixed name duplication bug, and Added CoO. Of course over time this history will be rebuilt, but IMO, that loss is more important than any user's name.
