Personally I say no despite what the back of the box may claim.

What other kind of menu is there on a dvd?

there's the more highend menu: the interactive menu with music

I have a few of those in profiles but would like to get rid of them because, it's rubbish IMO, to list a menu as a special feature even if it has music running in the background.

So I'd say NO

There are some menus, if you just let them run, will change over time. Some also have pop-ups and the like.

I know in the old Spaceballs menu if you just let it play, after a bit an object appears and you can click on it for an Easter egg.

But that would be under Easter Eggs then and not a special feature.

It's still an interactive menu.

But I see the original point. Is it a true feature? I mean, one could get really silly and say that the center hole in the DVD is a "feature." That's it's "Disc-shaped" is a "feature."

Certainly not, I'd say... Remember that if a menu wasn't "interactive", that would mean that it wouldn't even let you play the movie. Interactivity = a PLAY MOVIE button for you to press. It it wasn't interactive, the menu would just be a still picture, and that would be the end of it. It's such a hollow phrase - I shudder to think that we'd have to enter it into thousands and thousands of profiles...

okay, it's sunday and maybe my head is backward, but are you telling us that you have profiles that designate that music plays on the menu?

Srehtims,

If it's my spelling of rules, forgive me.  My 15" monitor is in serious conflict with my 58 year old eyes - and my keyboard is at odds with my fingers.

If your response isn't about ruiles, please explain.

Hardly Ken, since 99% of all DVDs utilize Interactive Menus of some form or other....hardly qualifies as a SPECIAL Feature.

Very interesting question. I would tend to agree with skip except when I thought I had seen it all. I discovered a DVD movie with no menu at all. (D.C. Cab) That movie changed my mind because the only way to play it is to wait on the player to start it. Therefore any kind of menu at all should be a feature.

Just an opinion.
