I only have 287 Blu Rays and it's hard to find titles that interest me enough to warrant a purchase.. And almost every night I scroll through the lists at amazon.com and amazon.co.uk for something I might have overlooked.. How you got up to 1000 BD's is a mystery to me..

I suspect the same way he got to 2,500 total profiles... he is interested in more titles than you and possibly has different criteria for upgrading a title to BluRay than yourself... and possibly more money (or less now!)

As we speak I am uploading my DVD/BD list.

I told myself at 1000 DVD's I would change over to BD...  Once I hit that mark at be begining of the month I bought a Blue-Ray player but continue to buy DVD's.  I don't think I will totally switch over till the cost of BD goes down a bit more.

My count is up to 1056 give or take one or two.  I had to take a few "Full screen" movies off the list.  I feel bad that I even bought them...  I opened them before I realized what they were.

I have stacks and stacks of my DVD cases...  I use to store them all in boxes using the "Out of Site out of mind" technique for clutter....  Since my collection kept getting larger I ended up just starting new stacks...

I hold all my discs in portable CD/DVD disc cases.  I figure that in case of an emergency I can grab and go.  I have put way too much $$ into my collection.

Ehh... what numbers are you guys referring to in this thread? Is it the number that shows on the 'Owned' tab? I guess it would be, but had to ask.

One thing that really kills me is answering the simple question: How many DVD's do you own? People that visit my house often tend to ask this question when they see my collection. I, being the nerd that I am, then have to ask back: Do you mean actual discs? Or do you mean boxes that can be pulled out of the shelves? Or, do you perhaps mean number of movies?
By then the people that asked the question of course have figured out that I'm a nerd, and couldn't care less.
How do you guys count your "DVD's"?

PS I know the answer to all those questions of course.

When i get asked that question, I answer in titles. It is the easiest answer to get them moving on their way because if I don't end it right there I will just keep the conversation going for ever.

P.S. I hit 1000 today. WooHoo!!!!

I use titles also.  However, titles for me means a TV Season is a single title, but a boxset of movies is however many individual movies it includes.  I use the "Collection Number" in DVD in this way, so I always know how many "titles" I have at all times.  It's the highest collection number in DVDP.
