Other Barry image contributions which he's contributing to be credited for [his] hard work :

    Carnal Knowledge
    The Cincinnati Kid
    The Train Robbers

None of these three sets of images is better than the existing ones.  All are smaller.

What Barry doesn't seem to realize is that the person who submits the better scans should be the one who receives credit.  His scans wouldn't be bad if they were the only ones available.  But he isn't the only one whose hard work deserves credit.  The person(s) who did the existing, better scans should receive the credit.

I know I voted no to at least 10. Lesser quality and smaller scans in each instance.

All I was looking for is to be credited for my hard work or should I say time I put ithru the years.
Why should others now be able to come to 3.0 & get credit for others hard work time "Contributions"?

We dont contribute to get credit, you dont get a shiny medal for it. We try to build a good database, which will be for use to all the members. If you didnt contribute them when the change to 3.0 happened, too bad, no one cares. Everyone knows that all the first contributions were just carried from the old DB and not someone making full audits. We built the database from scratch, where were you then? This is a user built database, not a Barry built database.

I've made probably little over 200 scans myself, i have contributed about 400. I dont think the people that add these to their collection give a happy funtime who contributed them, aslong as they are there.

You have to have the titles he submitted in your database in order to enable your ability to vote on it.
I have Matt Helm Lounge and Nuts in my owned, plus Magic on my wish list ~ those were the only three of his submissions I was able to see and vote on.

I recently upgraded from 2.4 to 3.0 & discovered all my contributions were gone.

Key word: recently.  You didn't expect people to wait around for you to come over and contribute all your profiles, did you?

I'm sure everyone posting here lost a ton of "their" profiles.  Big deal.  Start over, it's not like the last DVD ever is about to be released

Actually, looking at Norbit, I could be wrong

I have created quite a few profiles in my day.  When the database was moved, a lot of people uploaded those and 'got credit'.  So what?  I don't understand why that is an issue.

Same here.

I also had created a TV series profile (several hours of work) while Invelos was down and uploaded it to a site with a swap forum (glad those dark days without the Profiler are over  ). Immediately after Invelos was back up somone else contributed it without even mentioning me. Well, should I whine about it now and destroy the profile ? Certainly not, all that matters in the end is the correct profile in the database.

Same here, i did some R2 tv-series contributions with fingers hurting (damn star trek tng seasons had lots of stuff to input). Now they are most likely not credited to me and i couldn't care less. The important thing is that the data is correct and that it IS in the database. However if you really want credit i can understand that.

But to destroy current profiles to get that credit? Thats stupid.

I myself voted no today on one of his contributions, where the new scan was smaller and lower quality. I felt sympathy and i wrote as no reason, "Ofc you want credit, thats valid, but your new scans aren't better, infact they are worse then current ones, try another channel to get added to credited contributors"

Now that smidgen of sympathy i had is gone, gone gone.

I understand he wants credit but not this way. I checked some titles of him in the 2.4 database and he isn't the first contributer there so what is he doing. If he wanted credit he had to be faster and contributed first

Not just faster, but BETTER too. Most of Barry's work had been long ago IMPOROVED and brought up to whatever standards applied at the time by other users. You need look no further than his primitive low quality coverscans that he is attempting to use.

This sure sounds like you are contributing simply to get your name attacked to the profile.

you got that right...

i've lost "credit" over lots of things i did before. i don't bloomin care. and as for skip contributing a lot, that's because skip has taken on the thankless, mindnumbing task of auditing all his titles to improve the database, not to get credit.
