Some of us here in R1-land buy DVDs of films from outside the US. I have 26 in my collection that list 'other' as the language in the audio list; Thai and Mixed would take case of half of them!

I hope you're not mad, I don't won't to pick an anyone. I just hope you can understand my frustration. I don't want this  done tomorrow or within the next month. Just a solution for me and the other users requesting in this topic.

Kind regards from Belgium with only 10,000,000 inhabitants

No, I'm not mad - and I certainly do understand your frustration.  "Other" tells us nothing about what the language is.  Maybe if I were running things I'd do it differently and add more language choices.  All I'm saying is that maybe Ken has things he feels have a higher priority than expanding the language section.  I've been around long enough to remember a time when there were maybe one third as many language choices in Profiler as there are today.  I'm sure that Ken has the request somewhere in his queue of things to add/change - and when he gets around to it he'll do it.

I originally posted because you asked why "someone of the crew" didn't explain things.  It looked like you thought there is a whole crew at Invelos making changes, responding to inquiries & request, etc - when in fact "the crew" is just one guy and his wife.  Invelos is a 2-person, "mom and pop" company, not a whole organization.

As far as I remeber the request to add more audio and subtitle tracks dated back to InterVocative time, see here: http://www.intervocative.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=7531.
I also appreciate Ken's work but should the entering of right data for easch disc be more important than adding filterings / sortings /searching / exporting / etc. You can't do nothing with lists containing only value "Other".

Instead of griping that Ken isn't adding new languages fast enough, why don't you do the work on the language file for him.  I don't know what that procedure entails, but others have done it and gotten it included a whole lot faster than waiting for Ken to gift it to you.

What data is needed for a language to be included into the "language file" except the name of the language? Are you mixing up localities with languages?

I thought you were talking about the  translation files.  However, I still don't see the big deal.  There are thousands of languages in the world, and he already has all the majors and most of the mediums in the list.  For the really obscure ones, what's wrong with 'other'?  You can always put something in the Notes area.

Playing Devil's Advocate for a minute, John, I'd have to say that some of the language omissions are anything but obscure.  For example, Flemish for Belgian users.  I don't know how many DVDs have audio in the languages nmbs lists several messages ago, but one could hardly consider some of those languages to be obscure.

In Spain, catalonian, basque, valencian and galician are used by more than 25 millions of persons. Are cooficial languages and around 30% of DVD releases includes one or more of these languages. I always can put everithing in the notes area... but...

Since in this thread somebody has asked for Latin the requested list of additional languages would be:

Basque
Galician
catalonian
Valencian
Flemish
Estonian
Latvian
Lithuanian
Serbian
Thai
Swiss German
Rumantsch
Slovak
Pashtu
Bambara
Tibetan
Mongolian
Bahasa (Indonesia)
Slovenian
Vietnamese
Croatian
Latin

But of course implementing something like ISO 639-1 (~140 languages) or ISO 639-2 (~400 languages) or even RFC 4646 (491 languages) would be much better.

BTW In my personal collection, I'm missing Swiss German the most.

You asking what's wrong with 'Other'? Try to quess what langages are on disc as they described as following:
Audio:    Other DD 5.1
              Other DD 5.1
              Other DD 5.1
Subtitles: Other

Right answer: both audio and subtitlea are in three languages: Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian

In mine it's the Dutch dialect Flemish. So if only this one would be added I'm happy enough.

I would have thought that Estonian would have been added same time as the locality

By the way, could you check the rating system for Estonia here, it was rather hard trying to figure it out, as i dont speak Estonian
