My website is now back up and updated.  You can get the plugin from there as well as read the release notes for version 2.0.  Enjoy!

I made a minor change.  So minor I didn't even change the version number.  The plug-in was still showing as Version 1.4 and I think the install program did as well.

If you're as anal as I am, you can get the latest version to fix this.  But there's no real reason to unless it bugs you.  It bugged me.

I made a small change with Country Of Origin.  Korea is now South Korea to match the main program.  I also added Iran, Romania and Russia.

Thanks for adding in the option to export the Tags, this will save me a ton of work.  DVDs with 2 tags seems to be working fine, and will show both tags in Tags - All separated by a comma, one tag in the Tags - First and the other tag in Tags - Last.  But on DVDs that have more than 2 tags, the Tags - All, Tags - First and Tags - Last fields all show just one tag (all the same tag which happens to be a parent tag, no other parent tags or child tags).

P.S. - what is the Tags - First and Tags - Last meant to show?  The first tag the export encounters in the Tags - First and the last tag it encounters in the Tags - Last?  Or all the parent tags in Tags - First and all the child tags in Tags - Last?  Or something else altogether?

As I recall, if you have something like TV -> Stargate -> Stargate Atlantis, the First should show TV, the Last should show Stargate Atlantis.

I'm going to be having some more free time soon.  I'll look into this.

Also, another user requested through email that I add cast.  Anyone else interested in this?  Any thoughts on how it should be implemented?  It could be all cast separated by commas in a single field, a limited number of cast separated by commas in a single field or something like the first X cast members exported in separate fields.  Or something else entirely that I've not thought of.  Of course a lot will depend on how slow this makes the plug-in and how much interest there is in it.

Sure, sorry for not better explaining it.

I want to be able to export the information (in the CSV file) for the first audio track. Both the Language (IE: English, Spanish, Chinese, etc) and the format (IE: DD, True-HD, DTS-MA, LPCM etc).

I see this request has been added in the latest version of the plugin... Any chance though, to increase the number of audio tracks from 1 to 4 for example?

I have a lot of foreign language discs and it will help to identify those with the native foreign language and an English dub and any other commentary tracks.

TIA,

AL

Ok, it's almost a year from your posting, but I only just noticed it...

I for one really would like to have the option of including cast in the exported file. Most ideal for my needs would be the method bolded above. Typically 10-15 first names would be enough for my use, but of course it would be ideal, if the user could change the number him-/herself in the settings, if needed.

Thanks for the input Mika.  Perhaps I can find some time soon to look into it.

I have a problem with this plugin.

It starts to export, but suddenly appears a window in there and you can read (translation from spanish):

Reference to object not established as instance of an object

And from this moment it's impossible to go on with the export.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance

Microsoft has a fix for this -
'Reference to object not established as instance of an object '  ..

I hope you got lucky, but I am sorry to tell you that there are a billion ways to get that generic error. It is one of the most typical errors that .NET programmers get. It has to do with (sometime obscure) logic errors in object programming. Mark knows this, and I'm sure he will track it down. He might ask for more details or a sample of your data. There are even some ways that DVDP can trip up a programmer in the way it handles some data internally. Alas, it has also happened to me ...

Anyway, as I said, maybe you got lucky and you picked the correct one, let's hope.

No, I wasn't lucky with the widescreenforever solution (Anyway, thanks!).

I don't know what can be happening, because I was able to play the program without any problem till yesterday. I'll go on trying.

Thanks!

Did you make any database changes since it last worked?

If so, keep a list of the profiles that were added or changed. When Mark gets on this, it might give him good clues. Better still, if you have a backup of "before" and "after" - that can possibly nail it quickly. So save them in case he needs that ...

Yes, if you email me a backup without photos, I can run it through the debugger and see what I can find.  Typically this turns out to be some strange data in your database and if we can find the profile, you can fix it.

But first! You say it worked good until just recently?  I would check the things mediadogg suggested.  But the very first thing I would try is a database repair.

NullReferenceExceptions should always be debugged by two people. Maybe the other developer can give you a pointer...
