In your post to Ken to add case types, I think you should remove the Thinpak.  The poll is split dead even between Yes and those who voted either No or Don't Care.

How did "Don't Care" suddenly become "Don't Want"?

The poll shows a majority who want these added - the "Doesn't Matter" have no preference, so should not be added to either group.

I think they are different, and should be added - and advantages/disadvantages are irrelevant, or we would be removing Snapper due to all their disadvantages.

I didn't say it did, I said either/or.  But obviously if they don't care then you can't count them as a Yes.

Totally agree, but you can't count them as No either to give a "dead even" split.

I agree... the ones that say Doesn't Matter is just as happy with them being added as they are happy with them not being added... so I wouldn't count them in the poll as Yes (For addition) or as No (Against Addition).

Once again I agree... Is there any real urgent need to add them... No. But there is no real reason not to add them. So I for one would like to see them added.

My 2¢ is that the "Thin Pack" should be added.  For the simple fact that if (and I use "if" on purpose) a DVD is released (with same or different UPC - doesn't matter) in a locality with both cases.

Stargate SG-1: Season 6 comes to mind right off the bat.  It is available in both 22mm AND 14mm cases.  How would you accuratley and easily differentiate between these two releases in the profile if you don't have a "thin pack" option?

i say enough is enough already. next you'll want keepcase with for two discs, three discs and four discs...and then someone's gonna want apple pie when all we got is rhubbarb...

a slimcase is a keepcase.

i'm tired and this is only the second thread i've read today...

Slimpaks are a big standard in the industry. If you check blank case retailers, you may see that's what everybody is calling them. Official studios like Fox and Paramount are using them for all their TV series sets. As previously mentioned, bargain stores like Wal*Mart legitimately sell many cheapo titles in Slimpaks. Slimpaks are real. They do exist. The fat DVD cases have no standard naming, so don't worry, I won't be asking for those to be added. I encourage you all to vote for "Slimpaks" to be added as a case type.

I also noticed that all the dollar tree/Dollar General store selections (Cheap public domain titles) went away from the cardboard envelopes to the slimpaks too. And seems like the envelopes are getting phased out. Yes... I definitely think it is worth adding to the case types

Snapper and Keep Case is not at all similar.
I don't see any use for thinpak, since these are just thinner editions of a keep case. And if we do add this, we must have one for the keep cases who are thicker than the ordinary ones. What should we call them? We can't call them keep case. What about "Fat Pak"?

The difference is though, these are actually give a name by the person that created them, the Thin Pak. If they called fat keep cases "Fat Paks" you'd have  apoint, but you don't.

and there are several other different brand names of keep cases....  amaray, alpha, scanavo.....etc etc...
it doesn't mean we make a different option for each one of those.

a keepcase is a keepcase is a keepcase.

Do we need "Thick Pak" as a new case type?

No? Then we need no "Thin Pak" either.

"Thick Pak" is not a real case type, unlike "Thin Pak", so there's no possibility I'll be requesting that the fatty case types be added.

Thin Paks are very important for the DVD Custom Cover Art community, many of those people are here at the DVD Profiler site.

If case types as insignificant and outdated as Drawer and Clamshell can be afforded a position in the DVD Profiler database, I do not see why the widely used Thin Paks couldn't be allowed in. The program needs to expand with the what's offered in the industry.

I would like the "Thin Pak" data to be available for all users.
