It is no longer needed. The plugin in 2.x was helping to strip the unneeded digits from the code, but as 3.x uses the complete UPC you can scan directly into the UPC field.

My problem, is that my Cuecat doesn't work with version 3. It usually only outputs 3233323232 or something like that.

I does not have this problem with 2.4, so I miss the old plugin that worked.

I am using a (modified) CueCat hand have no problems at all.

Are you still running the catnip software in the background? If you have an original CueCat you obviously have to, but you may have to change the settings...

Sounds like you've got an unmodified cuecat. You'll need to find some software called 'catnip' and set that up. Once that is running it will work fine.

Here are the settings to use for CatNip to decode the output of a Cuecat for 3.x

On the "CatNip Settings" Tab
Select data for Output Type
no Seperator
under Teminator select  Return
under audible, I just keep it at the default setting
under Timeout select 1250

On the "CatNip Profiles" tab
Click on Add Profile, select a name, I used "DVD Profiler"
Click on Add Scan, type UPA , click on Filter, typ in 12 Plus signs (+), click on save scan

Now when you go to enter a DVD by UPC you should be able to just scan it, and it should be decoded.
I no longer use this program, i have "Declawed" my cuecats. The hardest part about it was figuring out what version of the board and where the jumper went. I have 4 cuecats and 3 different versions.

If you have a PS2 version you can purchase a PS2 to USB adapter for it and hook it up to the USB port on your computer, the piece that used to hook to the keyboard can just be left unhooked.
A Radio Shack Part Number 26-724 Should work, the 26-241 i have is discontinued.
