I would like it if there was a fix on the special characters. Support for Ž and others. As now I have one cast member from X-files: season 1, Episode Roland who are wrongly credited since this character is not supported. He is credited with Z instead of Ž as he should have been. The cast member I am speaking of is Željko Ivanek.

I'd very much like to see it fixed too. Certain special characters like Ž just can't be added into the Cast/Crew section of the program currently.

This is basically the good ol' Unicode request. Unfortunately DVD Profiler is back from the terrible Win9x days when people still used the terrible ANSI code pages.

And how would you know that Skip? Are you currently a co-developer of DVDProfiler? Stop jumping it with these silly remarks. You don't know that, you only speculate. So say it that way.

And I know there has been requests before on support of special characters, but I have never seen a request for support of this character before.

I recently did an overview update and didn't realize that I could insert ™ because in edit mode, that character doesn't display. But if you insert it and save, it will display and you can contribute it. So it would be nice to be able to have full support for all of these characters.

No, this is why I pointed out it is the Unicode issue. Hopefully we do not have to mention each single  character we would like to have support for (there is something like a million code points, so it would be even worse than the CoO updates.

And what is this "special character" definition. There is nothing "special" about for example a Polish or Japanese character compared to the characters in the English alphabet.

Lars

I too would like to see support for more characters in all fields, as long as the filter is updated to ignore accents.

That is a reasonable request. Amazing what kind of reactions it can trigger though...

It's a pity that time needs to be wasted on cleaning up any mess. Almost any subject can be the cause of a dogfight nowadays.
