I am not normally one who complains about things in here ... but I can not believe the images that are getting accepted into the database. It makes one think that they are not being looked at ... they are just getting accepted so there are images in the database. After getting such a nice upgrade from Ken ... I can not believe that images like what I have included below are being accepted. I could not believe how many cover images I have locked due to this.

Check out the examples I am speaking of below:

I only included a couple of examples. There were a lot more that are not acceptable. I probably locked almost half of the ones that were to be updated.

Rome was not built in a day and neither will the database be. Let's try to be a little more selective when accepting images. We have such a nice program ... let's not ruin it with junky images.

I admit I have been going a little fast, and I am a bit rusty. If you have better scans, once able to, send them back up. Include in the notes about posting here so it catches my eye.

I am not being very selective on new profiles right now (because of the sheer volume), so that could be the issue also.

Appreciate the comments.

mw, it's not just images that are not quite up to par, a lot of the data being submitted does not match titles that have been accurately audited. I'm not complaining either, but to keep my data from getting corrupted, I have everything locked and am looking at every update before accepting it.  I can fully understand the "loose" acceptance due to the volume and after a few days (weeks?) things will settle down and things will start to get cleaned up.

Thank you for clearing that up so fast Gerri.

I know this changeover has to be overwhelming to you and Ken.

Like I said in my post ... I am not a complainer. Just hate to see something this cool and nice go into the toilet before it gets off the ground.

I guess I will just have to deal with it and little by little the databse will get back in shape and covers like the ones above will get replaced.

Thanks again ...
Mark

I did not lock EVERYTHING ... but like you I have been scanning every new update and I lock the DVD according to what I see.

I know this has to be a big job getting this all loaded again. I guess I should not get so upset as I know that eventually things will get straightened out and the images etc will all be back in line.

I review every update and so far haven't downloaded any new images but that is because the images I have are the ones that were in the database from IVS.  Not saying they were the best, but so far they are the better ones.

I think my plan is to wait until 3.0.x (when the crew corruption on import bug is fixed), re-import from my 2.5 backup then upload all the profiles I had.

Wait until they go through the system, import from the (corrupt crew) 3.0 backup and download the updates (which will not affect any new discs I've added in 3.0 in the meantime)

Well it's a plan

I had a feeling this was going to happen with having to rebuild the database from scratch.  In anticipation of this, I locked all of my profiles immediately after importing my backup into 3.0.

Agree, time to lock down the entire collections until these problems are addressed.
