I have some corrections to "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" Extended Edition, US version (UPC: 794043693229). The crew section is locked but I have corrections to it after verifying the credits on screen - a spelling mistake plus some common names. Could some of the owners please unlock the crew section? Here's an overview over the proposed changes:

Notes:
Editor is Annie Collins.
Annie Lennox is credited as performer only, not writer or composer.
Common names added in accordance with CLF. Here are references indicating that the names belong to the same people:

Mike Hopkins:

In my opinion the online locks serve no valid purpose any more since the contribution process with partial contributions and votes has been introduced. Therefore online locks should not be used any more IMO. Those of you which have locked some profiles online should consider to release all of those locks, again IMO.

That' is your opinion, Rho and welcome to it, the locks in my opinion serve an extremely useful function to keep data from being manipiulated.

The only trouble is that what one sees as manipulation the other may see as an improvement. So I think it will be better if nobody can lock cast and crew, because it's almost impossible to be sure if those are or will stay correct, especially because of those common name changes.

I remain completely in favor of locks, and would like to see all cast and crew locked Martin, especially because of commoin Names. We have entirely too many people making assumptions that Name X=Name Y, which may be true be equally likely may not be true. We also have users using Common Names instead of correcting a user generatyed typo, which accomplishes nothing.

Locks will be ignored by the screeners anyway, as shown with the Star Wars title changes.

So yeah, they're useless, if you want to lock something you should do so privately.

Oddly enough, I agree with Skip.

If a profile needs to be unlocked, as it was in this case, it is a simple matter of asking for people to do it and telling them why.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Wait, what?  I didn't think you could contribute to a locked field.  Am I missing something?

I just checked, and I, II and III are not locked.  I did try and contribute to IV, which is locked, and the check box is greyed out.  It can't be contributed.

May I suggest to decrease the colors and recompress the image next time. If that does not help perhaps using
http://photobucket.com/ I took quite some time downloading the image:
Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Please include the sources for your changes in the contribution notes, especially for cast and crew additions.

I agree that locks are useful. I've been starting to put locks on box set parent profiles for mainly cast/crew to try and prevent the frequent contributions that try to add these.

I actually was thinking about a feature request for the abiltity to select/lock multiple profiles at once, so I could easily just lock all the cast/crews for these box sets. it would mosly only be useful for locking box sets though.

Yes, that works as long as the people who have locked the profile are still reading the forum and are aware of their locks.

Rho:

It takes, whata minimum of 6 locks to completely lock a title down, I have complete confidence that the users here will unlock any title that needs any modification at all.

In fact, Rho for the title in question, it looks to me like ALL locks have been removed from the Crew data. So the users did their job.
