| Posted: | | | | Now that iPhone 3G will offer MS ActiveSync and MS Outlook support, does that make it easier to provide DVD Profiler Mobile for the iPhone 3G now or in the very near future?? DVD Profiler and MS Outlook were the only things holding me back on the MS Windows Mobile platform from going to the iPhone and Blackberry platforms. Now that iPhone 3G will support MS ActiveSync and Outlook, the only thing keeping me on Windows Mobile is DVD Profiler. I am sooo tired of having to reboot my smartphone almost daily! Thanks! Ed |

I doubt it... ActiveSync is only an interface providing communications with the phone. The underlying Operating System on the phone is still non-Windows (does the iPhone run some form of Linux?), and thus will not support DVDP-Mobile... | | | The future is here. | Posted: | | | | Yes and if we want to have access to the SDK proposed by Apple, we must have a Mac to use it to develop applications for the iPhone. I doubt that Ken will buy a Mac only to be able to make an application for the iPhone... Maybe someone that have a Mac and knowledge in programming can develop an application and a plugin for the iPhone. In a first time we can have an application that use the XML export of DVD Profiler to make a viewer on the iPhone... | | | Regards Cyrille |

| Posted: | | | | Haven't bought a Mac yet but I have borrowed one to test out the SDK. I was in line for my iPhone on day one and would also love a native DVD Profiler for it. No firm plans to report as of yet though. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative | | | Last edited: by Ken Cole |

| Posted: | | | | There ya go - get Ken hooked on a particular device and you increase your chances of getting DVDP on it. Meanwhile, my altered RSS feed designed for the iPhone for phpDVDProfiler has been satisfying my urges for lookups to see if I own a particular DVD or my upcoming releases view. | | | Last edited: by Dr. Killpatient |

I don't have one but when it's time to upgrade I will most likely get an iPhone. But a custom app for the iPhone would be killer, and on the App Store I bet you'd make a bundle. | | | JAFO

I have updated my iPod Touch to firmware version 2.0 today and I would love to be able to download a DVD Profiler type of program While browsing the AppStore I just found this little app: StuffRadar. Currently it misses an import function but if the developer would make it e.g. import XML files, it could become very useful to get a DVD collection on the iPhone/Touch. I will keep an eye on that tool... |

| Posted: | | | | Well I can't wait till we have an IPhone app.
The more devices a program can be used on, potentially the more popular it could become. Whcih is in all our best interests as we all love DVD Profiler, or we wouldn't be here. So lets not discourage an Iphone App just because you may not like the device! |

| Posted: | | | | I am also eagerly awaiting an iPhone version of our beloved DVD Profiler. Being a system developer for solely the Windows platform, I cannot quite estimate how hard it would be to create an iPhone version, but I am confident it could be done by the talent behind the PC client.
The more mobile devices supported the better, I believe. I used to own a pocket PC device, but the move to Apple's phone has been (and still is) a very satisfying one for me. I thus hope an iPhone version of Profiler is being considered. Ofcourse it would be no issue if a vast amount of the more advanced features was missing in this mobile version - just being able to bring that collection along with me, being able to view the data and covers, would be awesome for me.
Here's hoping an iPhone version will happen. | | | Cirrus, Socrates, particle, decibel, hurricane, dolphin, tulip. | | | Last edited: by Busara |

I realise back in June there were no firm plans to report but six months on things might have changed for the better... Any news/updates yet Ken? Thanks & regards, -=Glyn=- |
