Just one minor wish: Since I have DVDs from several localities with different currency units, I'd like to see the ability to change the presented currency (e.g. switch from € to $) which then should filter the DVDs matching this currency.

I'm not sure I understand.  If you go to General Information, choose SRP Currency for the field, then choose "Count profiles by SRP Currency", does that not do what you want?  Or for purchase price, go to Personal Information and choose Purchase Price Currency for the field, and choose the same query.

You can't switch it on the Summary tab, but you can get to the data you're requesting.  Unless I'm not understanding the request correctly.

Blu-Ray Only

Total SRP: $5,155
Total Purchase Price: $585
Percent Saved: 88.7%

You must tell me where you're getting your blu-rays.  I thought I was doing well, but you're kicking my butt.

well I looked into it... I have some inaccuracy which I will need to correct, but also keep in mind that I have 15 blu-rays at $0.00 paid because of mail in and in store promos when i bought my two players

I had 12 from promos and my numbers were not half as good as yours. Still checking mine to see if all is correct.

I'd have liked to switch it on the summary tab.
But thanks for showing me how to get the info (even though it's not on the first tab)
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I have a question for all those with multiple currency types.  Is it possible (valid) to have the SRP in one currency and the purchase price in another?  Currently the data on the summary tab just looks at the SRP currency.  So if something is 15 euros, and you paid 10 US dollars for it, those dollars are added as euros.  I'm not sure what should happen there.  Should it ignore those numbers for the purchase price since it's a different currency type and add it to the US dollars figures?  Or should it be treated as a mistake and just add them under the same currency as the SRP?  I'm very confused.

And is there any value to a query to find where the SRP currency and purchase price currency don't match?  Not knowing if that's even valid or not, I'm not sure how much value such a query has.

Yes it is possible.
I have a release of "Sin City" with location Australia (SRP currency AUS$) which was bought at Amazon.de and thereby paid in €. The program accepts this.

By the problem you just showed up, I got confused too. But you're correct, in cases like mine you won't get any valuable results.
So forget I asked.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!

It is possible to have an RRP in one currency, but the sale price in another.
I use an online shop in Europe, hence the sale price is in euros. However, they specialise in imports so the DVDs sold come from all over the world and the RRP on the profiles reflect that.

I imported 1408 (Blu-ray).. SRP was set in Euros, Price paid was set in U.S Dollars.

For my numbers, however, I changed the SRP to U.S. and did a conversion on purchase date, locked the SRP and chose "never contribute".

But, it is possible for the two not to match.

Ok, so it's valid to have differing currencies between SRP and purchase price.

That leaves the question of what to do on the Summary tab when you're totaling things.  Here are the options I can think of:

1) Assume the purchase price is whatever currency the SRP is.  That's what it does today and after reading everyone's comments, that sounds very, very wrong.

2) Only add the SRP and/or purchase price into the running totals if their currency matches whatever the primary currency is.  So you might have a situation where one price is added, but not the other.

3) If the two prices have different currencies, don't add either to the running total.

I can't think of any other options off the top of my head, but I'm open to suggestions.

So, how should it work?  My collection is 100% US dollars, so I honestly don't care.  But I want to make the data as valuable as possible to those who are effected.

Ok - I have made all my corrections, so my numbers are now 100% accurate... I also found that I should note... i have 15 $0.00 paid discs from promos for buying blu-ray players, 3 $0.00 paid discs from promotions at my job (i sell these things after all), 2 discs at $0.00 from amazon.com certificates gained via my amazon credit card, and 1 disc at $0.00 for a birthday gift. That means I have 21 discs at zero...

I also found what may be a bug in the plugin - when I filter for blu-ray only the total SRP, Profile Count stats etc are also INCLUDING WISHLIST TITLES UNLESS I SPECIFICALLY FILTER THEM OUT ALSO!

So here is a more accurate number for sure lol...

Blu-Ray Only

Total SRP: $2401
Total Purchase Price: $638

Mark,

I have a profile showing up as a "Child Profile"" on the summary page when I filter on my Blu ray discs.

How do I figure out which one it thinks is a "Child Profile"?

I am assuming that you are looking at the fact that it is listed as a "sub-profile" to a boxset, yet I do not own any Blu ray boxsets currently.

I'm stumped.

Edit:  I tried creating a "manual"profile and adding all of my Blu ray profiles as children, thinking the offending profile would not allow me to add it since it is already" a child profile, but it let me add all of them, which tells me that none are actually "child profiles".

The plug-in still says one is!

I'd get version 1.1, set the media type filter to Blu-ray only, the Box Sets filter to Child Profiles only, then run something like any profile with a runtime greater than 0 or something similar.  See if it will show you the profile that way.

Version 1.1 is now available.  The release notes are on the download page.  You should be sure to read them all.

The most important thing is to pay attention to is the new Box Sets filter.  The best option is to simply clear the filters to reset them.  In other to get that filter working correctly, I had to change the checkboxes from 2 state (checked - unchecked) to three state (checked - unchecked - indeterminate [the blue box]).  As always, the filtering logic seemed really easy, but it totally kicked my butt.  I spent almost as much time on that one item as everything else put together.  Let's just hope it's right this time.

I believe I've addressed everything that's been mentioned in the past 6 pages.  If you have a request or bug report that I've not addressed, please let me know.  For the most part, I think you'll all be pleased (especially those who asked for new features  )

Enjoy!
