BulkEdit make the Start Time for Profiler very long?

Without BulkEdit 9-10 Second to see the Profile List
With BulkEdit it takes 27 Seconds to see the Profile List??

BulkEdit 2.78
DVD Profuler 3.9.1
Windows 7 64bit

While testing on the Intel Compute Stick, I was impressed with how fast everything was, including DVDP startup. Then I installed BulkEdit.

The improvements that you recommended have definitely moved up the priority list. Funny how one can get used to something, then when it changes, it serves as an eye opener. Thanks again for bringing it up.

I have just installed BE and can load my profiles but have not been able to export anything.  The default export file is export.xml but it is in C:\Program Files (x86)\DVD Profiler\Plugins\BulkEdit which is a read only directory.  Did I install this wrong?  Why isn't the export path in my Documents path?
I am using Windows 10.

Thanks, Ed

Hmm ... you know I had even forgotten BulkEdit had an export function. Let me look into it. I also don't understand why the BulkEdit folder would be read only. Prehaps it has something to do with either Windows 10, or how it was installed. Try running DVDP as administrator and see if the problem is resolved. That will be a clue that it has something to do with User Access.

is there a way to use bulk edit to add notes to a profile in a list and not in sentences? I added my audio cds to profiler and have been copy and pasting the track listing from excel, a long and tedious task to say the least!

Yes, use your spreadsheet to create a CSV file. Then you can use BulkEdit - Bulk Load Personal Data

The "key" used for profile updates is the Invelos Profile ID. I hope the referenced link has enough information. So maybe give it a try.

Ok, it should be easy if all the tracks are in one cell. You can probably still do it, if tracks are on separate rows - just make sure to always use the same key for each track and use the "PostNotes" header, and each track will be appended to the end of the notes field. The import process is "dumb" - no aggregation. So, each row of the input is treated as a separate update to a profile - slower, but safer.

Ok, I tried DVDP hidden gem "Copy / Paste".

(1) Select a profile you want to change.
(2) Uncheck the Slip Cover check box.
(3) DVD > Copy
(4) Flag all the profiles you want to change
(5) Collection > Flagged > Paste
(6) Check Case Type
(7) Click OK

Done!  (No need for BulkEdit this time!)

It won't if you filter by one case type at a time.  Filter by the particular case type, copy one of those profiles that doesn't have the slip selected, flag all the filtered profiles, paste the case type to the flagged profiles losing the slip while retaining the case type, unflag all profiles, filter by the next case type, rinse and repeat.

Sorry, didn't work, BE treats as Read/Only field. I think BulkEdit suffers from what used to be a restriction in the Plugin API, which may be fixed now, but I didn't remember to update BulkEdit.

How many items in your collection? If thousands, and you are willing to wait a couple of days, I can explore making the change for you ...
