Next step is to report it directly to Invelos it does violate the rules both contribution and voting wise and they have to power to revoke voting abilities.

I'll submit a support ticket.

As a contributor trying to clean up the CLT. I do hope they take it seriously.

I do believe I've had run-ins with this specific user before... Total dickbag

Votes no to whatever contribution is made and I've even seen him go back and re-submit the incorrect data, stating in his notes that the info is taken from the film's credits.

I submitted a support ticket quite some time ago... Thought maybe that had solved it because I've submitted to entries he owns since then, and haven't gotten his normal abuse, but I guess not.

Hopefully this one solves the problem once and for all.
The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play.

That's exactly what happened here: back in 2010, the CLT showed three titles for IMDb-name variant "Daniel P. Hanley", and now it has twelve titles, with contribution notes claiming the data was taken from the credits or copied from another profile - both are lies, since the data clearly does not come from the credits, and for those titles there was no other IMDb-mined profile in the database.

My support ticket has been met with a "Forwarded to admins" reply.

Laverne & Shirley: Season 4 - Dan Hanley
Laverne & Shirley: Season 5 - Dan Hanley (working on this one now right now)
My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it!

Any luck with this guy?  I've had my correct data attempted to be overwritten by this guy as well.

I'm at this point going to go ahead and name the member: garbaneunu

Folks can get mad at me if they want, but it's not exactly a secret and it's definitely a matter of public record (with his contribution notes). Not saying his name does NO good. If people don't know to look for him and his notes or double check his contributions or profiles he's contributed/ing to, then what's the point? He'll just keep on putting in crappy info and destroying the hard work of people who actually care about getting the correct info in.

So to anyone reading this, if you have a profile that was contributed to by garbaneunu at ANY point and his notes read the cast and crew was taken from the film's credits (or a new one that I've seen as well where he says that it was cloned from a US based profile where even a GLANCE at the US based profiles reveal this to be an outright lie), you might want to check the data over. Unless someone came in afterwards and contributed data to correct his lies, the data in the profile is like, probably 99.9% likely to just be absolutely wrong, and it got there because he lied to get it in.
The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play.

And now that that is out of the way...

Luck... depends on your definition I suppose.

Am I still, to this day, seeing his name all over contributions where he's lied and said he took the info directly from the film's cast and crew? Absolutely. Most common name threads where numbers are way off that don't have to do with TV credits probably have garbaneunu to thank somewhere along the way for his lies to get the incorrect information into the profile (or to overwrite good info).

Am I seeing newer notes where he states he cloned the info from another profile (generally a US profile) but doesn't give specifics (like a UPC) and when you go browse at the profiles for that locality you can see that he's once again lying his a$$ off to get the info into the profile? Yup.

HOWEVER...

Do I get anymore abusive no votes from him? No. I haven't been called names or screamed at in a no vote from him in a couple of years at this point probably. I figured Invelos actually restricted his voting privileges. If they didn't... well... that wouldn't speak highly of Invelos.

I'm also not sure he's contributing anymore. Since I haven't gotten any horrible no votes from him, I also haven't really been double checking WHEN he's submitted the data. He hasn't updated his online collection since September of this year, maybe he's finally moved on. But I absolutely do NOT know if this is true. He could very well be submitting profiles by the hundreds and I just haven't come across new ones.

Also, is he still submitting incorrect info to overwrite correct info and lying about it to get it approved? I don't know. Again, since I haven't gotten no votes, I haven't been paying attention to when he's been doing his submitting (recent, a few years ago or whatever). I also don't keep a list of profiles that I've corrected or anything, so going back to figure this out would be problematic.

Do I still see that he DID this? 100%. Can I tell you if anything's recent? No.
The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play.
