Will InterVocative & Invelos DVDP be using the same server database?

In my opinion, and it's not a humble one,    Building a new data base is one of the best ideas I've seen in the new version so far. Sure it causes a few slight problems but only in the short run. What a superb way to dump the garbage. By being selective in what (or who's) work is to be accepted, this new data base will be large enough and far better than the old one within a couple of weeks.

Think about it, inside a 24 hour time frame the data base has gone from fewer than 100 to 12,396. And I haven't uploaded any of my obscure titles yet. We and the new data base will be fine.

Now if we could just get those elusive grandchild profiles.

Exactly. Starting all over was a brilliant move.
"I am Andrew Ryan and I am here to ask you a question:
Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow?

No, says the man in Washington. It belongs to the poor.
No, says the man in the Vatican. It belongs to God.
No, says the man in Moscow. It belongs to everyone.

I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose something
different. I chose the impossible. I chose…
Rapture."

Current released count just over 11,000. Not bad for a days work.

Approving 11.000 profiles in 1 day also means there is about 0 quality control on these contributions. After comparing a few profiles in my collection already uploaded, I can say the quality is in no way improved with several profiles being worse than the ones in the old database. People are simply dumping their old profiles in the new one.

Not to mention a lot of the "old garbage" was due to missing localities. When european countries like Greece and Austria are still missing from the list, I don't see the db getting any better than the old one.

The existing database apparently had no localities to start with so a lot of titles got switched to the nearest available when these were added.

Plus this is the initial rush, once it's settled down people will have a lot less to fix than were in the old database.

Of course if your profiles are better than those being submitted why not submit them and help improve things?
