By the looks of it: users following the rules are the big loosers here

I would not say things like that. There are people who want to  have a database which properly links actors. But for that, they cannot follow rules, which are not appropriate for many cases. So they do not contribute, and their work is only for them.

I think some would be happy to contribute, as they did before those rules were so rigid. So if there is a problem with people not contributing, why to refuse to discuss rules ?

I never thought you were negative. I fully understand your point of view.  I just think that as long as rules will say that Francois Truffaut or Mei Melancon are correct, we'll have many people that will not take the time to build stupid profiles only to have the pleasure to contribute them.

Don't pay too much attention to most anything Surfeur says.  He uses every opportunity he can to continue his incessant whining about how the rules discriminate against French users because, according to him, they can't understand them.  This is yet another example of his whining.
