Testing new actors every day. So far, all the recent ones mentioned in the Contributions Forum have scraped 100%.

Today tried one of my favs "bai ling", got 666 profiles expecting 667. My new validation checker reported one UPC underserved with potential profile 6416548456010.16 having no credits.

Since the UPC scrape indeed retuned 667, I was able to manually check, and in fact there was no credit for "bai ling". But there was one for "ling bai".

Is that expected? I thought CLT was supposed to return only the exact spelling of the credit. In this case, a variant was counted, even though it was not credited as "bai ling."

Now, what do I do? This would be a massive code change, if I should anticipate variants and count them, and there will be tons of false positives.

Can I get another set of eyes to look at this one? (meanwhile I will keep my eyes on Bai)

That was my understanding, too. But I did some testing with CLTPlus and CLT, and I found that searching the CLT for "ling bai" produced at least one profile with "ling bai credited as bai ling".

I know that's the opposite of your search, but "bai ling" resulted in so many more profiles, so this was easier. And the result is just as unexpected.

Much appreciated to get that confirmation. Any suggestions for what, if anything I should do? Or (after you think about it for a bit), is there a subtle rule that the CLT is performing that I can just as easily code up?

Obviously Goodguy must be doing it. If he could, so can I - if I just know the rule.

Oh wait, in your case, there was a "creditedas", so my code already handles that case, and actually the CLT should have legitimately counted that one. In my case, there was no creditedas.

Edit: Yup, I get 100% CLT for ling bai (175) no errors.

That is a weird one! if you check http://www.invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=contributionnotes&type=DVD&ProfileUPC=5051891151710.13, you'll see 2 earlier contributions.

However, when you set up a profile with that UPC+locality Italy, and contribute, you'll get to a blank contribution page, as if you're the first one.

I'll recontribute with the info from the alternate profile, and see if the original is 'reset'.

This profile has been reactivated now.

I though you meant that CLT should only retrieve the profiles where the actual movie credit was exactly the one searched for. In the case for ling bai CLT retrieves 175 profiles, but at least one is ling bai credited as bai ling. That is not what I would expect.

Edit: I just downloaded the profile in question. It turns out that the role is actually entered as "Qui (as bai ling)", so bai ling is not in the credited-as field. That explains the result.

Thanks, that explains it. But that means that the CLT is parsing the role field and paying attention to "(as ....)" and using that as an equivalent to CreditedAs. So CLT counts it. I do not.

Waiting for AiAustria to weigh in on this, but based on previous similar discussions, I am guessing that people would want me to also parse the role in that way????

As of today, the profile has valid cast and crew credits (submitted October 3rd) and a valid entry for Bai Ling which is (correctly) listed with the CLT for Bai Ling.

Maybe there is a problem in the period between contribution and approval date?

Well if the evidence changes while the issue is being investigated, then it makes me look stupid. The profile has been corrected yesterday, in the middle of the conversation (<ProfileTimestamp>2020-10-10T11:07:00.000Z</ProfileTimestamp>), so the issue no longer exists. In the future, I will discuss testing results privately with people who are helping me.

The good news is that the CLTBoss results now agree with the CLT exactly.

I have a release candidate for CLTBoss V1.0. Working on the web site access and tutorial videos. But if anyone wants a link to the RC beforehand, you are welcome to send me a PM.

Certainly no landslide here. Anyway. moving on, even though very busy at home, I have been experimenting with making tutorial videos. I think I have good capture software now. Working on improving the audio.

Here is an initial tutorial for fully automated scrape / scan.

I plan to redo this one, so that the mouse pointer is captured, and audio hum is eliminated.

Video seems to play best with WMP. Somehow VLC unusually did not do a good job on this mp4 format on my system. Don't know why.

My apologies to any and all who have tolerated my hijacking of this thread. I will be establishing a CLTBoss thread in the plugins forum, going forward.

Swan song test demo tutorial video: Using CLTPlus XML UPCs and Other CLTBoss Features

The video was a practice for me and test of the new audio / video setup, which uses good software and my old Behringer mixer and microphones for clear sound. I had to purchase a cheap USB audio input. The video is too long and rambling. But if you want to see a few of the cool CLTBoss features and you have the patience, then be my guest. Hopefully, the future ones will be more crisp and focused.

So, thanks again, and I hope to meet you soon in a new thread.

Well circumstances have made a liar of me (again).

Another case of the CLT extracting "Credited As" from the Role instead of the official CreditedAs field in the database.

So, now I will put this in my code, since now this is the second case I have seen, and there will be more, I'm sure.

Quote:

    <Actor FirstName="Ralph" MiddleName="" LastName="Clift" BirthYear="0" Role="Customer (as Ralph M. Clift)" CreditedAs="" Voice="false" Uncredited="false" Puppeteer="false"/>

My code yields 29 profiles, CLT yields 30. The quoted XML is from the profile I missed.
