It's a really nice offer...but I personally use my Gallery feature to display the posters for the film (I really like to see differing posters from around the world).

I hadn't thought of this.  I like movie posters as well.  Any chance you could post your layout, in a new thread of course, so I could see how you are using it?  Now that I think of it, we had a thread for desktops, maybe a thread for layouts.  It could give people different ideas.

As to the original post, sorry for straying from it, it is a very kind offer you are making but, like others, it isn't a feature I have ever thought of using.

I don't have the ability to show my layout in the forum....so I've uploaded it to the layout section 'Pantheon's Showroom'.

Have you checked http://dvdpgallery.dvdalistic.com/ for movie posters? I sent a lot of posters to that site.

The main site I use is: http://www.movieposterdb.com/

It's really easy to drag and drop into the gallery file and it has a lot of posters from around the world. Actually, I've yet to search for a film and it NOT to be there.

Many thanks.

I've tried to take in account all the remarks done by users who seem interested by movies screen captures. So I opened a new site, with direct access, no registration, and in English (though advertisements may be in french, but they are useless for photos purposes  .

The site is Images of Movies

I think it's easier for the user, though it takes much more time for me to build pages.

I would like some feedback before going on, knowing that it could take two or three monthes to enter my 1000 movies, but the number of interested users seems to increase.

I've checked out this site, and it looks great, except you need to contribute movieposters before you can dowload, or pay for download.

As a totally free alternative, http://www.impawards.com/ also has an extensive movieposter library.

Thanks once again! Works like a charm - already downloaded the photos for a few movies.

Here's a tip for everyone who, like me, are not that familiar with the Gallery-feature in DVDP (this may be obvious for everyone but me, but as I found it by accident, thought I'd share it anyway   ): Instead of creating profile-level folders into your "../DVD Profiler/ScenePhotos"-folder manually, you can easily let DVDP create that folder for you. There's a yellow folder-icon on lower left corner of the Gallery-window ("Browse Gallery"). Just click that, and the correctly named folder is created automatically.

Looks good, but there should be a possibility to create an English Yahoo group instead of a French one. That should be easy enough to use for the users and most important, not so much work for you to upload the images.

Either way, I appreciate what you're doing.

I never had to.

I simply click on the poster I want. If there are multiple choices I then click again on the one I want. Then I drag and drop.

These may not be full size but, so far, I'm pleased with the quality.

I was indeed referring to the full-size versions. The small ones are accessible without logon.

One problem I had with the previous site was that sometimes instead of just showing the photos and allowing you to choose which to view it had a slideshow. This meant it was difficult to select the photo I wanted. (THis seems to be gone from the new one, although as I'm at work (lunchhour!) there may be a slideshow which is being switched off.)

Another comment is regards the size of the photos, ideally I would have liked larger images - although I appreciate you may be constrained about what you can do.

Thanks again for your effort in this

If you decide to move away from Yahoo Photos for any reason and host the collection yourself, I would recommend the Gallery software package.  It uses PHP/MySQL, it's free, and you can view a Gallery site by clicking on the "VC" link in my footer for my Virtual Cover collection.

As I wrote in my previous post, I already moved from yahoo to another site without registration.

The site is Images of Movies

I have a little more than 40 movies, and plan to send 40 more in one or two days.
As for PHP/MySQL, I have not the smallest idea of what it can be...

This is great!  Merci.   Many thanks!
On weekend i will download some pics and improve my Profiles. (I have the Gallery feature added some time ago, but never really used, because of missing time, but this will make it much easier.)

Here's one source of screen caps: http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=cap_it - note: you may have to be a member of LJ and this community to view.

As for links still being valid, YMMV.
