I ordered it on 6 January. It arrived at shopusa on the 7th. They will ship on the 17th. Arrival the 18th in Sweden. The website lists a delivery on the 26th. So either they calculate a large safety margin, or they use a real slow service within Europe.

Player price was 89.38€. The website states 58.36€ as shipping/import taxes, but I received an email stating they credited my visa for 92.17$, including an 8$ insurrance. I guess that is closer to 65€. So total price should be under 155€ for the player. This is about the same price I could find in the cheapest online store in the Benelux for the Region B model.

Well, the time is certainly right. 1 US $ = 0.71€

I purchased through Amazon.com, because they had free shipping on the player I wanted.

So, if you want to go for it, now is definitely the time.

Personally i own a EU and an US PS3 for my Blu-Ray's as well as my DVD's.

Also: Refering to an older post. The new PS3 Slims are actually capable of bitstreaming, so the machine keeps getting better!

However, the following line in their policy troubles me

With a 30£ shipping fee for a player, you'd expect it to be insured.

There are better alternatives for discs I believe.

For a player, like Stephan said, you don't have the hassle, and it's probably faster. But for the player I bought, there is a difference of about 40-50€ and it was insured. So I think I'd prefer shopusa to the UK solution.

Well, I placed my order with DVDworldusa.com.. Bought a player for 109, GBP.. Let's see how long it takes..

I wonder if there will be any customs tax to be paid because after asking them via email they told me that their Players are shipped from the US
