I just have to ask. There is never any response from the company to posts in the forums other than "working on it" "in active development". Just what is the deal exactly. If this is a hobby and not a full time thing then just tell us that. I for one have all but given up all support for any device here. It is a shame as this is a great piece of software. Just look at the last time any updates were done...Dec 08 for the desktop version and Nov 08 for the mobile version.

Ken the world is about to leave you behind, sorry to say. How about you get proactive and do anything...

Yes, it is dead and the company is out of business.

I suggest you look elsewhere.

Why do you need an update? The software works perfectly, and contributions are still streaming in!

It would be better if a new 3.6 evolution allowed contributions. I have about 70 discs ID for blu-ray profiles waiting for contribution.

If you're told they're "working on it" or something is "in active development", then the exact deal is that they're "working on it" or it's "in active development".  This seems pretty simple to me.

Things do move slowly here.  And if you look back at the history of the company, things have always moved slow.  And generally speaking, when new releases do come, they're fantastic.

I don't understand the panic.  I don't panic if I don't get a new version of Windows every other month.  I don't panic is Office doesn't get a new release each month.  Most of the software on my machine doesn't get frequent updates.

I'm very excited for the next version.  I'm very excited for the new iPhone app.  The wait is tough, but they'll arrive eventually.  And when they do, they'll most likely be fantastic.  And we'll most likely be using those same versions for the next year or so and answering more threads like this about if the company is dead.

Well??? Is it???  Don't leave me hangin' here!

To the op: Version 3.6 is in beta; see the beta forum for details.  A new beta build will be out early next week and will be posted on the download page.

Hello Mark

It´s not the same. Nobody needs a new Windows or Office, but they need fixes for them. Most user here don´t want a new Version (because 3.5 runs perfect for me), but they WANT it on their IPhone. And this means they want to have 3.6. I do not question the Software or Kens great work done so far. I do know that it will be fantastic. The only thing I question is the lack of information. It seems a little bit like a "one-man-show" to me, at least it would explain the way you say it works...
There´s definitely room for improvement here...

Perhaps you would prefer a more traditional application, one for which you must pay for each new version?

If you maintained parallel copies as suggested you would not have a problem.

I use the released version as the primary, but then I proform a save after any change in the released db.
Then restore that db to the beta version. Sure it takes time, I have over 12,00 profiles, but it is something I can do while watching a DVD. I do watch my DVDs, although I wonder at times if some on this forum actually watch their DVDs.

Red flags please.

After 50 years using computers I don't blindly trust them or anyone for that matter

If it was just this user, I'd say that's silly.  But I've seen enough reports, even from trusted members like Hal, that I'm starting to wonder.  If your household is anything like mine, you should check with Geri.  She'll know.

I want the next version of Visual Studio.  I've seen some advance stuff on it and it looks fantastic!  And it would really, really help in my job.  But it's been in beta forever.  These things take time.  You should feel fortunate that you got a reply from Ken.  That's unusual (sorry Ken )

As far as development goes, it is a one man show.  And you're not the first person to notice the lack of communication.  Your options are to deal with it or not.  But choosing not to accept the situation will not change it.  You not the first person to ask!

On my old computer, I had 3.5 and 3.6 in parallel. But I had (that began before 3.6 installation) many problems restoring my backup files to my laptop with 3.5.

On my new computer, I just installed 3.6, and it works perfectly. I prefer that, even if the price is to wait for contributing.

You should save the 3.5 files and restore them 3.6. not the other way.
That's what I do and I have no problem.
