I only do that when the image quality is significantly better than the DVD version. But that's not one of the options in the poll.

I'm slowly replacing my favorites, regardless of extra's. (I certainly won't replace all my dvds though).

My Blu-Ray title count is now 167 titles. 25 of those are upgrades.

* My BD player came with a few movies. I already had one of those, which I traded for a disc I already had on dvd
* Three dvd's were non-anamorphic
* Two dvd's were replaced using the Movieminutes program for a few €
* Two were upgraded because the BD contained a longer version of the movie
* Three were upgraded because I purchased a boxset with part 1 & 2 of a franchise where I owned
part 1 on dvd already
* 14 were upgraded for various reasons (price was quite cheap, improvement in quality,...)

In general I try to upgrade as little as possible. I was tempted to upgrade my 10 Star Trek movies, but after reading some reviews, I'll stick with the dvd's.
I've upgraded Casino Royale to BD, but for the first 20 Bond movies, I'll stick to DVD.

Image quality is pretty much always significantly better than DVD (28 Days Later and the odd upconvert like Highlander are about the only exceptions). I replace favorite movies, ones where I find the Blu-ray really cheap, ones with significant new features, etc. My Blu-ray count is 250. Probably about 2 dozen are upgrades. I'll check when I get home.

I simply can't afford to replace all my dvd's with blu-ray.

From time to time I will do some kind of upgrade when there are better versions available on blu-ray. Anyway - today I'm at the very beginning of a blu-ray collection. Long way to go!

Out of 738 titles only 5 are updates to Blu, 11 more titles carry the "get blu"-Tag (mostly non-anamophics), but that's about it.
With my Set-Up the difference between a good anamorphic DVD and a BD isn't big enough that it would warrant to buy everything anew. Not to mention that a lot of the movies I own will most likely never make it to BD.

I personally replace any of my favorite DVDs with Blu-ray if they are a reasonable price. I have a price that I'm unwilling to go over to "upgrade", but as soon as the price is right I usually bite. I can't resist owning the "best" version of a film when it's one of my favorite movies. Any film that is rated above 4 stars for me is worth the upgrade...unfortunately I'm not all that picky with movies so this tends to be more movies than I can afford!

I'm not going to replace all of my DVD's, no way. Some just don't warrant an upgrade, aren't watched much at all, or will probably never be released on Blu anyway. Right now I'm mainly replacing favorite and semi-favorite films, or ones that are a significant upgrade in terms of A/V quality on Blu.

Right now, I own a few more than 250 Blu-rays.

That's usually my aim.

The poll doesn't have an appropriate option for me. I don't intend to upgrade all of my (even available) DVDs to Blu-ray. I have done a few select titles (big blockbuster spectacles, titles where there are lots of dark scenes). For me, extras are insignificant. I will sometimes watch them, but with the exception of short films, they're generally not a selling point for me. I want excellent picture and sound (which is why I am hesitant on things like the UK BD of Pan's Labyrinth and the US A Scanner Darkly).

That said, I have a tag for marking each and every DVD in my collection if it's available on Blu-ray so I can quickly check if the option is there.

This.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.

We will teach it to them again.

So far: I have replaced:

The Animatrix (a favorite)
Batman Begins (OCD need to have all Batman material that's available on Blu-ray)
Batman: The Movie (ditto)
Battle for the Planet of the Apes (in the Apes set)
Beneath the Planet of the Apes (in the Apes set)
Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (in the Apes set, possible latent masochism)
Daredevil (not a great movvie, but a good example of a movie wrecked by test screenings, also cheap)
Dark City (one of my favorites, also I wanted the new cut)
The Dark Crystal (a favorite)
Die Another Day (cheap, and a package deal with some better movies)
Digital Video Essentials (DVD version inadequate for calibrating HD displays)
Dogma (a favorite, and cheap)
Escape from the Planet of the Apes (in the Apes set)
Fight Club (One of my very favorite movies, and cheap)
Firefly (One of my favorite shows of all time, and I wanted the new special features)
First Blood (a great movie, also super cheap)
Ghostbusters (A favorite, also cheap)
Labyrinth (a favorite)
Land of the Dead (box set deal)
Life of Brian (a favorite)
Lost: The Complete First Season (part of season 1-5 set, also my DVD version is lost and maybe stolen)
The Matrix (a favorite)
The Matrix Reloaded (ditto)
The Matrix Revolutions (was in the box with the other Matrix movies)
Monsters, Inc (got a deal when I bought it with Up)
Napoleon Dynamite (cheap box set deal)
Patton (part of a boxed set)
Pirates of the Caribbean (a favorite)
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (as long as I was getting the rest of the set)
Phone Booth (really cheap)
Planet of the Apes (a favorite)
Serenity (one of my favoritist movies)
Short Circuit (cheap, plus the DVD was non-anamorphic)
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (I can't get enough retro-futuristic kitsch)
Sleeping Beaauty (The finally correct AR had a lot to do with it)
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (animation buff)
Stargate: 15th Anniversary Edition (perhaps there's something wrong with me)
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (proce was right, and want to upgrade the whole series eventually)
The Thing (a favorite)
Young Frankenstein (a cheap box set deal, and a lot of new special features over the DVD I had)

That's actually 40, which is way more than I expected. Only about 3 of them fit any of the poll options, though.
