Still no decision! I recently did a profile update which received no votes for the inclusion of the extended info (which also didn't completely fit, we really need more space there, as we do in other features!).

I would also like to know whether or not song titles are allowed for dividers as well, as i've seem it both ways,

anyway, the fact that we can't seem to get any help/info/decision by Invelos really is annoying and i doubt if i'll see any more reasons to keep contributing considering the hassle it's become,

Paul

Throwing my hat in the ring here and am going to help bump this sucker until an answer is officially given. I'm not a fan of the extended info, but either way, there SHOULD be an answer given (I was the no vote that made paulb_99 withdraw his otherwise really decent submission, and it's a shame to lose the other good info he had to offer because of this issue... which also had something to do with ping-ponging and was the main reason I voted no).

I'd also llike an answer on whether or not song titles are acceptable for dividers. It's been done both ways (and I'll admit to doing it both ways as I've really come to like the look of the dividers used for song titles, it really cleans up that section when there's a bunch of original music) and an answer needs to be given.

Personally, I think this is getting f**king ridiculous. Ken/Invelos/Gerri who the hell ever should've given an answer by now. It's kind of pathetic that it hasn't even been addressed by now.

Yes or no. That's ALL it would take to answer these two questions.

Yes, use extended info.
No, don't use extended info.

Yes, song titles are allowed.
No, song titles are not allowed.

Took me less than 10 seconds to type all four possible answers!!!!!!

The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play.

After 9 months this really should have had an official decision on this one way or the other by now.

While no answer has been given, the issue has been addressed.  As I recall, Ken asked why those who didn't want the extended information felt it was a bad idea as it gave the divider context.  I don't believe he got many answers and never came back to the issue.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.

Well this thread has been being bumped for months. Whether or not he got as many answers as he wanted is irrelevant at this point. There's still interest in the topic and answers are still wanted by members who use the program. To have addressed the situation and then never actually give an answer is even worse in my books than ignoring it. If he got one answer or one million, he should've come to a decision and let everyone know what it is. Period. Simple as that.

Dividers

Dividers allow the segregation of cast and crew into logical groupings. Wherever possible, these groupings should mirror the film credits.
•Use Episode dividers for TV show episodes, distinct films, or other logical episodic distinction. Also use episode dividers for full cast division, such as "Japanese Voices".
•Use Group dividers to designate cast grouped in the credits such as "Soldiers" or "Additional Cast".
•"Cast", "In order of appearance" or other similar headers at the start of the credits should not be entered.
•Also use Group dividers for crew teams, included only if the crew meets the other listing requirements.
•Groups should be ended with a "Group End" type divider, unless the next entry begins a new group. Do not add a group end divider at the end of the cast, or at the end of a crew section.

For Song titles i would say if they are a Group Role (2 or more people credited under the song title) then they are allowed per th rules if however there is only 1 person then it would be up to the individual voters, i have used the Group Divider for OMB credits where there were 2 credits under the OMB credit and this was approved by Invelos.

For me the rules actually support the extended details as they say that the Groupings should "Mirror the Films Credits" but of coarse others will interpret this some other way

Honestly, though, do you really expect Ken to reply?

Since when has he shown any caring on what goes on in the forums, or even what goes in the database for that matter. If he isn't going to do anything about someone who knowingly submits bad data to the database, he sure as hell doesn't care about people asking for a decision the rules.

Like Ken gives a rat's ass about this community.

Ken's apparently away for the weekend... Awesome. He's got an excuse for two days. I wonder if there's one for the other 275-ish days that this thread has been up without an answer?

List individual credits only, not company name credits. Exception: If a company name heads a group of crew, use the Group divider to enter the company name

This is saying that we don't list company names as credits, we list them as a group divider.  It does not say that we only list the company name.

Dividers help give context to the credits in the group.  That is not best served by excluding this extended information.  Include it.

Then please, increase the length of the divider field immediately! Because two thirds of these don't fit, and the longer we have to wait for the field length to be extended, the more profiles will have to be redone again...

I agree that these (as well as several other) field lengths need to be increased.

Great, and will this clarification be added to the rules as well?

Also, what about song titles in the dividers? is that allowed?

Thank you, Ken.

Paul:

I would say that song titles IF original for the movie also give context to the data and would treat it accordingly
