Yes that appears to be normal, I have the same situation overhere.

I'm out of options for you, only other thing I can imagine there is still some kind of firewall setting blocking the connection...

One last thing could you change something on the desktop version?
You choose "Verleen toegang tot" to "alleen mijn netwerk (subnet)".
Change that to "Handmatige lijst" and set it to 192.168.0.*

I am digging again in my system and there was another blocker running (ESET).
I want to thank you  very much for the help Izo and I am sorry I haven't thought about this earlier.
But I am really happy it's syncing now

Was able to get iPhone to connect finally.

Two things of note:

1) The Invelos DVDProfiler "Connection Self Check" test does not work (at least for me).  Even though I am now able to connect to my home pc via my iPhone, the Invelos page on my home pc still says it cannot connect to itself.    Therefore, use your iDevice to test connection, don't rely on the Invelos Test page.

2) When setting up port forwarding, do not specifiy the incoming port as 32847 (or whatever), only the destination port.  In other words, have your incoming port be "Any" and your destination port be 32847 (or whatever port you use).  I was setting up my firewall using TCP 32847 -> 32847 and my iPhone would not connect.  I changed it to TCP Any -> 32847 and it now connects.

Hmm.... if all is done fine it should work. I have an iPhone and an iPad. I did setup at home first in the desktop application the sharing and this for all users also over the internet. Did setup password for reading and for writing. Then I looked into Vista firewall, the dvdprofiler was already in there as an open application. Then I did setup in my router a port forwarding for the default port entered in the desktop application to the internal IP 192.168.x.x of my PC running DVD Profiler. The test buttom in the desktop application did not work, told me always that it does not work to connect. I then went into my office, installed on both devices the new App and did tell to get the database from the official IP-Number at home, not the 192.x.x.x of the PC. And this did work on both devices perfect, minutes later I had on both my database and images. So I believe, users having problems should look again in all of this, it does work when all is configured as it should.

I couldn't get it to work using my IP address, but when I entered in my computer's name (which I found by going to "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network and Sharing Center" in Windows Explorer it worked fine.  Just so long as I didn't try to multitask within DVDP desktop.

And just another thing for users with problems. To connect the desktop application on your home PC must be open and running. If the desktop application is not running there will be no answer on the port to sync.

Keep in mind, that by using your computer name as you did above,  you will only be able to connect while within your home WiFi network.

To be able to connect to your home pc from outside your own home network, you will have to either know your external IP address (you can find this using any of the many "WhoAmI" tools available on the web) or setup a DNS (check out DYNDNS.org for more info on this)

From your post, it appears that the Invelos "Test" Page didn't work for you either - so it's not just me.

Also, please note my above post - using your internal network IP won't allow you to connect from the outside world.

Hi royalh
Yes, the test page from Invelos does not work to test the connection from outside. It always told me it is not ok also I could then from business sync without any problem. Ken should perhaps look into this test possibility to fix it :-).
