I tried to sync the App (iPad) with my collection on the PC via Wi-fi. Initiating the communication between devices worked fine, but mid process the App crashed and does not start again properly. The App starts up at first, but while loading it crashes after a while. Any ideas?

Do you know what step in the process it is crashing?

There are known issues when you have a DVD with a back image and no front and if you add users on the phone. It doesn't sound like you added users yet.

There is also an issue if you have a Disc ID (and potentially other fields) with garbage characters.
For those right now, it is difficult to identify the offending profile, especially if you have a large collection. But I might be able to help with that.

Hi

Try rebooting your iPad and re-lanch the app after that.

Could be the same problem i just had.

First the app crashed with an error message (something about data being out of range, I think). Then the app crashed witout any kind of message everytime I tried to start it again.

The problem seems to be with the desktop program in that case. It was still connected to my iPad and iPhone. After closing the desktop program, I could open the iOS app again without a problem. And the sync completed as well.

@Gerri: Nope, no users yet. It was during the last step of the process, but I'm not entirely sure how far in the crash happened. Since the whole process took rather long, I did other stuff in the meantime (the dishes and stuff) and when I checked again, the App was already shut down.

Rebooting the iPad was my first response, unfortunately without any results. I'll try to re-install the App this evening (can't sync in the office anyway; PC's not part of the wi-fi environment and online syncing is blocked by the firewall or something). The collection in question is indeed rather large.

Ooooooooookay, another try, half the success. The App does not crash anymore an the database is fine, but not all images were copied to the iPad. Weird ... But that I'll get done, and if it's the last thing I do (today before sleep takes over).

There is a problem (fixed in 1.0.1) with profiles with a back cover but no front.  Check for that on desktop and copy the back to the empty front.  That should clear this up.

The Database Query plugin will find profiles missing front and/or back covers.  Should make it a snap for people to find those profiles and fix them.
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.
Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection.
