My collection uploads without problems from Profiler 3.0, but when I view the resulting web page, the collection numbers shown don't agree with those from my local database.

Some examples:

  • The last-added title, The 300 Spartans, is collection #2012 in my local DB, but #2008 in the online display;

  • My local collection numbers run properly from #1 to #2012, but many numbers (e.g., #2007, #2001-#2005, etc.) are missing in the online version;

  • Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid and Dont Look Back have the same collection number (#2000) in the online display, but they're #2000 and #2003, respectively, in my local DB.

  • The "Support" section only talks about Adult titles going missing in the online display, but I don't have any adult titles, so I don't think it's that.

    Are other users seeing similar weirdness with the online display?

    Edit: Yes, they are; I didn't think to look in the main Support forum, since this seems to be specifically an online issue.

    I've noticed that DVD Profiler Online does not update a profile if the only change that you make is a renumbering. I just made a change to a profile and then renumbered. The changed profile and another profile exchanged numbers in my local db; however, when I updated the online, only the profile that I edited was uploaded. So now I have 2 profiles online with the same collection number.

    Update: I edited the Overview of the previously unedited profile. I added a period to the Overview, saved it, then re-edited it, removed the period, and then re-uploaded to the online. Now the correct collection number is showing.

    A somewhat more elaborate workaround that seems to have worked for me:

    1. Reassign collection numbers for your entire collection using a different order than you normally use (I used "release date" instead of my usual "purchase date");

    2. Upload the modified collection;

    3. Renumber the whole collection again, this time using your original order criterion ("purchase date" for me);

    4. Upload the collection again.

    This seems to reset the online collection numbering: my online list now corresponds to my local database's numbering, as far as I can tell. At the very least, it has the right range (1...2027), and I can't see any duplicates on a quick skim through.

    Thanks for the temp. work around, hadn't noticed it too much myself until earlier, hope it's fixed soon.

    Yes, my collection numbers when uploaded are all messed up too. I'll attempt the fix that trystero suggested, and hope that it works.

    Nevermind, it appears to be fixed now.

    I think it is only a bug present in 3.0.0 and is fixed in 3.0.1

    My first upgrade attempt at 3.0.1 had some serious problems, but he second try apparently went smoothly and corrected some of these bugs!

    How about if you don't want to have numbers? I've got all my dvd's set to 'none' for the catalog number. However after uploading it shows collection # 0 for about half of them, completing messing up de ordering.

    Any way of fixing that? Is there some way that you can force it to upload the complete collection (not only the changes)?

    BTW, I'm using the 3.0.3 beta

    I had this problem.  I went into each profile and set them as no collection number.  I don't know, but I guess that these are profiles that haven't been personalised.  If any continue to show up with zeroes for collection number in the online version, assign them an arbitrary collection number, then upload (don't know if that step's necessary), then set as none.  That worked for me, but it was a nuisance, so there may be an easier way.

    I hope there is an easier way. I think about half of my collection is now showing '0', which is about 450 titles. Don't fancy going through them all.

    Nope, that doesn't seem to be enough. I went through that, but still about half of the collection shows up with nothing for collection number and the other half with 0 as collection number.

    you can have more then one db localy.
    make a new empty one:

    Menu: File
    open database
    new database
    name empty
    select empty

    Menu: online
    DVD profiler online: next
    Upload

    Menu: File
    open database
    select default

    Menu: online
    DVD profiler online: next
    Upload

    maybe this works?
