I have just installed DVD profiler (the free version) on a new Windows 7 64 bit computer and restored my 900+ DVD database, but I cannot get rid of the 50 DVD restriction. Any idea what could be the problem?

Simple. Buy the product and the 50 DVD limit goes away!

In the past the 50 limit was not permanent and went away after restarting the program. That's how I got 900 DVDs in there in the first place.

It still shouldn't stop you from adding DVDs. It just turns off most the features if you decide to stay with the free version. You can see a chart seeing what is turned off after 50 DVDs at the below link...

Not everything remains free forever. You can get a lifetime registration for the price of just a couple of DVDs.

It's a bargain, I'd pay that much every year if I had to.

With a 900+ DVD collection, surely you can afford the $29.95 cost of buying the product!

You already know that it is well worth it!

That's exactly my point. It used to work, but doesn't seem to anymore.

In my defence, three members of my family have purchased the iPhone App, but the free version on PC does exactly what I want. That said I will proably have to buy it now.

It does work.

The only sad thing is that even the database restore only works up to 50 profiles.
The other 850 must be entered manually and one by one again.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

That's new then. I have restored my database(s) several times to several computers over the years and it has always read the lot. At first only 50 were visible, but after restating the program the remainder appeared. maybe that "feature" appeared after a certain release? Oh well, time to spend $30 I guess.

Sounds more like a big that has since been fixed in the newer releases.

This is not correct.  When restoring over 50 DVDs without a registration, the program asks whether you'd like to restore just 50 to try out the premium features, or to restore all of them which will disable the premium features.  It's the user's choice.
