I am with the 8ball, it frustrates me when they stop releasing a series in the middle or so.
But I still love collecting tv-series

I currently have 88 complete TV series. I still need to get the final seasons of "The Rockford Files" and "Family Ties"...don't know why I've never completed those two .

I stopped collecting "Gunsmoke" and "Rawhide" when the greedy studios starting splitting the seasons into two separate releases to gouge us even more .

.. and am I crazy..    or are the TV shows  of yesteryear  sooo much better than the crap they bring out these days ...??  and have you noticed how two hour shows are 98 min  instead of today's 84 minutes ., ..

@ Neil
Great list! I don't even want to think about how many I am either close to completing.... a distance from completing... or current series that hasn't started yet! The list would be 3 or 4 times longer I am sure!

@8ballMax
I also hated when series went to half seasons like that! It hasn't stopped my collecting... but definitely slowed down collecting those sets.

@Terry
Yes... I know what you mean. A lot of the classic series are just timeless. I can continue to watch shows like I Love Lucy or The Dick Van Dyke Show over and over again! And yes... they were definitely longer back then too. Studios got greedy wanting to sell more advertising space.

Pete - your collection can never be complete without all five seasons of Babylon 5.

Just sayin'

Oh I agree there is a lot of great stuff out today as well. Like I am so hooked right now on the CSI series... Bones... Smallville.... and so many others!

I think it is that there is a special place in our hearts for our old favorites that makes it feel that way. I will be curious to see how today's shows hold up in 30 years or so though.

I like collecting complete SF series.
The best feeling was when I received the 2nd season of Jeremiah. I had ordered it from Amazon, and the reply was NOT FOR SALE OUTSIDE OF US/CANADA. Then out of the blue 6 mths later a shipped notice came through???? Anyway for an obviously "home" release, it was good to finally see the 2nd season.

I also made sure I have the complete available Gerry Anderson shows, gotta love em, strings n all.

I have a lot of shows on DVD too.  I'll have to take inventory again.

I really hate it when only a few seasons are released and then no more.  That is so annoying and highly frustrating.
