What about an On-Screen notification when one receives a No vote on a contribution? (Locked)

If I block someone it's because he harass me, so I don't see in wich way his/her comment would be valid (usually we block people for good reasons).

Some people have nothing more to do in their life than harassing other people behind their computer desk for trivial things like whatever you can think of... No need to give them a new way to cause trouble.

This is exactly why I would like the option to not get anything from someone I have blocked.

I'm always a fan of "customized options."

I don't receive a lot of PMs, but I always forget that I am notified by e-mail when it happens. I go to check that e-mail for typical reasons and there is the notification for something long past read already   I always prefer the option on message boards/forums to turn e-mail notices off, but I also understand the benefit for some. So, as usual, the idea of an option to turn that off and on I prefer over a static non-choice.

With that reasoning explained, I would feel the same way here: if a "'No' vote notifier" was added directly onto the forum similar to the notice we receive already for PMs, being able to turn off the notice via e-mail would be a great benefit to those who make a lot of submissions but don't want to empty their e-mail of notices every few days

For the idea of "blocking" the forum alert (be it global or per individual,) that seems to me like a somewhat reasonable step as well... but only because PM-blocking is already on place. You can still go to My Contributions and see the correct number of Yes/No votes (none are "hidden" and you can go into the specific contribution and will see all of the notes made by everyone -- including people you have "blocked" (again, none are hidden) -- but the alert (and only the alert) would not show up on the forum page (same place as the yellow PM notices) if the vote is via someone that you have blocked. Because someone is likely to receive negative votes from a much wider group of members than they would PMs, having an additional option for this to work globally could be just as beneficial.

As I re-read what I typed(which in itself was admittedly rehashing much of what was said,) the concept may sound over-complicated, but it's not.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

He who MUST get the last word in on a pointless, endless argument doesn't win. It makes him the bigger jerk.

Well Blair the topic of this thread is sound, I kept my comments generic because I wanted to point fingers ay no one in particulat. But then Kathy had to weigh in with her hmmm can't think of something polite to call it. I will however say that the hypocrisy displayed by a supposed, emphasis on supposed, 4 star member is  just unacceptable. I have known Kathy for a number of years and she is notvthe Kathy I know. She has become an American version of l another user I know. Sorry Kathy not trying to attack or insult you but your pointing fingers while you generally are the first to launch is not right. I was shocked that you even used your contribution notes to launch an attack on me, and compounded it by copying those notes to the forums and got away with it.
ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!!

Let's see, I politely requested something that I would like in regards to the topic at hand.

A little pop-up would indeed be nice or a message displayed at the top of the page like when we have a private message

I would like it to be like this too.

If possible, if I have someone blocked I would like the pop-up blocked also.

Your response, directly after mine, addressing a point only I had raised:

Roflmao, how typical.  Interpreting things as it suits a users mood and doesn't want to be informed of valid no voted. In my book such a statement even further negatively impacts a contributors credibility. And a user claims to not take no voted personally...yeah right.

Generic? Stop playing the victim. As far as I'm concerned you are a bully and I will not put up with it. If someone calls me or my actions into question, then I will respond directly to what has been said to or about me.

I may not say exactly what I am thinking because I don't want anger or frustration to make me say things I might regret. I take great care with the things I post. So, what I post is exactly what I want to say.

Block me - please block me - then you don't have to read my comments. All I ask is that you leave me alone.

Finally, as usual you find it necessary to bring up the point that I have 4 stars. The little green monster raises its ugly head once again. If you want stars - earn them.

You have 20,677 posts and no stars. Doesn't that tell you something? It seems obvious to me that your posts are not what the community finds to be worthy of a positive arrow.

Although I have no influence over the communities ability to give green arrows, my stars are "real" and not "supposed".

To you they are real, Kathy. To me they aren't and never will be, your behavior is not that of a four star participant. Sorry.

Obviously the community disagrees since it their positive arrows that earns someone a star.

The only importance I place on them is that the community finds my posts deserving of a green arrow.

If it weren't for your constant berating me on the issue of my having earned 4 stars, I wouldn't bring the topic up.

Why don't you block me so you don't have to deal with me, my behavior or my stars ever again.
