Sirs,

maybe I missed it:

do we now track DTS Express, aka DTS LBR (Low Bit Rate), as an Audio Track?

You know, the secondary audio from the PiP feature on B-rDs?

Do we?

Love, bbbbb

No we don't.

Like you say, it usually belongs to the Picture-in-Picture feature, which is a bonus feature and we don't track audio of bonus features (unless it's a normal commentary track but then it's not secondary audio).

I appreciate that you answered. Somebody contributed a not selectable Making-of PiP DTS Express audio track he found with BDInfo as "Audio Descriptive", and got approved.

How did they contribute DTS Express since it's not one of the available audio formats in DVD Profiler?

Unfortunately the rules have never been updated so it has nothing to say about these "new" features. I guess that makes it up to the contributors/voters/screeners, like so much else around here...

The "DTS Express" codec is the secondary audio from the PiP Making-of. Format aside, "Audio Descriptive" is something completely different.

To make sure I am following this, can I assume that if I see the "Secondary Audio (DTS Express)" stream available in the Main Title, that there is a PIP feature present?

I can't think of anything else it's used for besides menu sounds, which don't show up like that, so you should be good. I don't think that all PiPs use secondary audio, though.

Thanks, so I will use it as a best guess for now.

Another question. I am getting an audio stream with a language extension of "VisuallyImpaired". I assume that this is "Audio Descriptive" in DVDP terms? (Thanks for the answer Ace ...)

If they are using the tags correctly, yes.

And yet another (sigh): I have uncovered the XML file which defines for which languages the D-Box codes are available. If I parse this file, I can get the D-Box programmers and the languages. But since this is not movie related, I assume that DVDP would have no use for this info?

The mere presence of the XML file indicates that D-Box Motion is suported, so I am putting this fact in the Other Features field.

Ok, on this?

It most definitely is "movie related", maybe I don't understand what you are saying.  We have D-box motion code logos on the back of the discs, isn't it time DVDP added D-box Motion Coding (MFX) as a checkbox?

Wow that post is 3 months old, in the midst of trying to get DVDPca plugin to work. Not even I know what I was talking about at that time.

But it sounds like you have a valid feature request - I would post it in that forum.

The request was originally posted in that forum, in fact you linked from that topic to this topic. But no love in that forum. Not sure how to drum up support for something that is such a niche product.
