Hit or miss.

Turning 30 this month and have been battling between taking a vacation or upgrading my home theater. The latter would cost less and last longer then the odd few week vacation. Anyway, to my question, what would you think of the following setup, good bang for the buck?

AV receiver: Onkyo TX-NR515 (~550 euros)
http://www.uk.onkyo.com/en/products/tx-nr515-76085.html

Speakers: Cambridge Audio MinX S325 (~850 euros)
http://www.cambridgeaudio.com/summary.php?PID=593

I'm especially interested in opinions on the receiver, as i have no idea whats needed these days. Receivers with the same price tag here are:
Denon AVR-1713
Sony STR-DN1020 (so far all my receivers have been Sony's)

While I can't comment on this Onkyo, I used to own a TX-SR705. It had a very nice, warm sound, but I was very disappointed in the spatial/surround representation. So I switch back to Yamaha (RX-V1067), but this is in the 900€ budget range.

The sound is less warm (for lack of a better word), but much better surround.

One store here is selling it for 700e. Looks tempting.

Well it has all the latest features. It is capable of supporting 7.1. It has HDMI 1.4, so compatible with 3D. It makes sense that prices have dropped on that one, because Yamaha released the RX-V1071.

You can always checkout some reviews. Some complain about the remote. I have no issues with it.

Do you know whats the main difference between the RX-V1067 and RX-A1010 models. Or to be exact between the A and V models. They seem almost identical, why the two product lines? Those both have the same price 700e. But the A model is available in black (in that price)

Looks like the RX-A1010 is the new series. The RX-V1067 and RX-V1071 are in the discontinued product list on the UK site.

Here is a features comparison list between 1010 en 1071. I don't see much difference

A short review/report would be nice to know what you think. I am interested in one of these and wonder what the "web control" is, not the Ipad/Apple app thing, they also list some sort of web control.

As far as i've read, you can control the amp with your web browser. Provided that the amp is connected to the same network.

I'm later trying to have the 5.1 for home theater and the other 2 channels for my PC. Then it will become a handy feature. But i'll write a more thorough report when i've actually used it.

I have no idea what the web control of the RX-A1010 looks like. The one for the RX-V1067 is rather basic. I mainly use it for volume control, when the remote is too far away, and I don't want to get up. My laptop is always in reach

Here's a screenshot0

Got it in the end of July, also got a set of Orb Audios speakers. Although they have been on heavy usage, i've barely scratched the surface of what it can do But all i've tried so far on it, i've loved.

Still have to get a proper rack for the receiver / players. I have the shelves on my hallway waiting to be painted. Been there 3 weeks now Also the front speaker mounts are just on the old speakers places, and haven't got time yet to mount them properly.
