Since there is no such thing in the alphabet, then it becomes a symbol, the above rule could be applied.

This is a big "S" and this certainly ain't a symbol... for all I know "S" and "s" are the same letter and part of the Roman alphabet that we use.

Personally, I believe the time spent arguing over this one title could be better spent fixing and updating many other profiles.

Of course I agree with you on that, but it isn't me who created that topic to get a chance to talk about the typo in the synopsis again...

You need to quote my previous sentence also:

Only the top half of the letter S appears next to Nun and the bottom half next to Gun.

Since there is no such thing in the alphabet, then it becomes a symbol, the above rule could be applied.

There is a big S - so what? Only half of it appears next either word. There is no such thing as a top half or bottom half of an S in the alphabet - therefore it is a symbol.

I understand that that issue bothers some people but, as far as invelos is conserned, that issue has been addressed.

If one is applying the S to either Nun or Gun even both then you are interpreting the cover. There is only one S and it could be applied to one, the other or both.

One could request a clarification from invelos but I don't believe that is needed since there is a clarification in the rules that can be applied in this case.

"For titles which include periods, dashes, or other symbols, check the credit block on the back of the case if included. If not, check the film credits or opening sequence. Use these to determine whether to exclude or convert the symbol to a standard character such as ".", "-", or "*"'

Only the top half of the letter S appears next to Nun and the bottom half next to Gun.

Since there is no such thing in the alphabet, then it becomes a symbol, the above rule could be applied.

Personally, I believe the time spent arguing over this one title could be better spent fixing and updating many other profiles.

I hear ya

The past threads for "T4xi" and "Scre4m" we heated.

This is a different situation.  But with a poll that that clearly is not out to show all options when it is clear that the majority that have posted do not think either poll option is correct there is not much of a point

Personally given that the poll does not contain all options and the tones involved it is clear to me that this thread was basically created just to facilitate getting reactions.  If I am wrong I apologize to anyone my opinion may offend, but that is the way I see it.

I don't plan on posting back to this thread so say what you want to say.  I am not feeding the trolls anymore.

You are right as usual Kathy... I was a little bit dishonest on that one, sorry

In fact as the others say the poll is incomplete as those two options are missing

I don't care

I guess you know what will be my choice if all the options would be present

If it is only one "s", the  where do you put it?

After guns as the "S" is there.

Quoting Kathy:
Quote:

Actually, it could be argued that only the top half of the S is after the word Nun - the bottom half is after the word Gun.

and it's the bottom part of a letter that count as this is where it starts.

So when you make an S, you start at the bottom. I always start at the top, so it would be Nuns by your reasoning.

Sorry, but surfeur51 is correct.

You can't have things the "way you want" by bending the rules only when it suites you.

Now, if the developer stepped in in cases like this and made a ruling, that would be fine.

But since he doesn't, you have to follow the rules.

Everyone here is always "follow the rules" all the time. You can't go back on it now just because you don't like the result in this case. You must follow the rules, or you all reveal yourselves to truly be two faced.

I would go with "Nude Nun with Big Guns" unless Ken makes a ruling.
99.9% of all cat plans consist only of "Step 1."

Who is bending the rules?  I am quite sure that those who advocate 'Nude Nuns with Big Guns' believe they are following the rule.

Of course it would.

Of course we do, however, not everybody sees the rule the same way you do.

This is based on the false assumption that people are "going back on it."  I am quite sure that, from their point of view, they are following the rules.

How is that any more or less correct than the other option in the poll?

Which interpretation allows to add a "s" for this title and forbid to add a "a" for Taxi 4 or a "r" for Scream 4  ?

In the case of "T4xi"  That is what is on the DVD title (T4xi) so calling it "Taxi 4" is indeed re-interpreting it and adding since you are adding letters that do not exist.

... I have to disagree. In the case of "Nude Nun...", what is on the DVD title has only one "s", so calling it "Nude Nuns with Big guns", with 2 "s", is also re-interpreting.

This is exactly what Grendell calls "bending the rules when it suites you"

Thanks surfeur51 for creating an argument that wasn't and isn't necessary. Thanks for starting a thread that is only there to create a fight.

I really start to wonder why you do this. You can do anything you want local. Why searching for the exceptions to the rule to start a argument?

Why not start a thread asking for a solution to an exception you found? Why starting it the way you did, creating a poll that was clearly not meant to help find a solution, it was just there to get people to argue. I am, sorry but I really don't get it. We all know that you have issues with the online database and how the data is done but do you honestly think this type of thread helps anybody or anything?

I am also sorry that I went for it and that I am taking part.
