The Discoverers is a short and therefore does not qualify for being listed with DVDProfiler...
Complete list of Common Names  •  A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1)

Where do you get that idea from?

'The Discoverers' (1993) was officially released on DVD under UPC 014381-912128. There's a profile for it in the database, and that's perfectly valid - no question about it. At absolutely no point do the rules prohibit this from being entered/listed in the DVD Profiler database.

Tied again

Current CLT results:
Ismael "East" Carlo 53 titles (171 profiles)
Ismael 'East' Carlo 36 titles (98 profiles)
Ismael (East) Carlo 18 titles (62 profiles)
Ismael East Carlo 22 titles (38 profiles)
Ismael Carlo 55 titles (124 profiles)
East Carlo 28 titles (56 profiles)
Ismael de Carlo 1 titles (1 profiles)

This means, for now, Ismael Carlo still leads with 55 over 53 CLT titles. Not the most stable lead ever

Don't see where, in this case, IMDb is wrong.
Keep in my that the IMDb criteria for a short is a film under 45 minutes (not the Academys 40), so to them, The Discoverers is a short.

Shorts (under 40 minutes) already are in the online database with their own profile (eg. Imax: Cosmic Voyage). These are shorts released on their own on DVD, like The Discoverers.

The profiles which exist in DVDProfiler are about 70+ minutes, which would be far over any of the limits for shorts. But I don't own it, so I can't tell anything based on facts...

The information in the online database is wrong. The film itself runs about 40 min.

Also included on the DVD (from Image) is a making of documentary. Together, the theatrical film and the making of, runs about 72 minutes.
This much can be gleamed from the online profile (014381-233629) where rear cover states 72 minutes (where the contributor obviously got his info from). But in the "overview" of the profile, it is stated the film is 38 minutes.

It doesn't matter what the running time is. At absolutely no point do the rules refer to the running time to determine whether something qualifies for entry into the database. Heck, the shortest DVD in my database runs for 6 minutes. "Shorts" are not excluded in any way. The only time the  term "short" is mentioned in the rules, is when it says that we can't use "Alternate versions" to create separate child profiles for them in case of a disc with more than one short on it. That doesn't apply here, so this is a perfectly valid profile, and it would be great if someone who owned it could confirm Mr. Carlo's credit.

This shows clearly the stupidity of the "exactly as credited" rule. A normalisation of (East)/"East"/'East' as we do for Jr./,Jr. would avoid much pingponging.

The "exactly as credited" rule multiplies variants, with a program that hates variants. Waiting for a new program, we should have rules that minimize variants as much as possible, and not rules that even create fake ones...

... this shows the problem that we need some kind of authority...

But this is no name flip - that's why I created that post: the common name was Ismael Carlo and stays Ismael Carlo; at least for the nexts days

But it should be Ismael ["normalized" East] Carlo with 53+36+18+22=129 titles against 55 titles for Ismael Carlo (CLT results). Corrected with this thread it is 28 against 13 titles

For interested parties

Ismael Carlo

Also for those interested, exact running time: 40 minutes, not 72 or 38.
