| | Posted: | | | | There is a producer named Kevin Burns (BY 1955) who apparently mostly does documentaries. This thread is not about him.  There also is a sound guy who sometimes appears to be credited as "Kevin Burns" and sometimes as " Kevin Patrick Burns", BY unknown. I dug around the forum for a bit and found previous mentions in the accepted BY thread and the "credited as" thread. These threads contradict each other as to which should be the common name. From profiles in my local database it appears to me that "Kevin Burns" is the more commonly credited version of the name. On the global database though I can only guess, since as far as I'm aware the CLT can't distinguish between "Kevin Burns (1955)" and "Kevin Burns" (sound guy). | | Posted: | | | | You have to either match up the titles to each ones filmography or just click on each title and count the sound guy's credits.
Common Name (Sound) / "Kevin Patrick Burns" (25 Title(s))/ To "Kevin Burns" (61 Title(s)) Based On The CLT Note: I counted CLT titles and profiles manually based on this persons filmography since there are several Kevin Burns'.
The spread is pretty large and given that the IMDB name is Kevin Patrick Burns it is most likely correct. If you are manually counting titles most of the time (but not all) the CLT get's skewed the most because of profiles that got accepted with IMDB data since you can mitigate the TV issues and varied bad production years when manually counting titles.
I don't have a title list of his handy. But you can click on each title and take down all of his titles and make a common name thread if you want. I would doubt you would get a different result.
That "Credit As" thread is pretty useless IMO for determining a common name. Some people think that they can just post a name there to declare the common name with no validation. Also some common names change over time since new titles get added and also many of the crew/actors are still working.

But there is mention of Sound Mixer in the grid listed within the sound credits = RRM. and later in the rules it states Superivising is allowed unless specified in the rules for certain crew roles. so SSM = SRRM = RRM.
