Ok, your English not easy to understand.  Let me try and recap and see if I am getting what your saying

You are stating that you have confirmed all the titles for Tim Smith/Tim J. Smith http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2869617/.  And Because the common name is Itm Smith you need a BY.

Tim Smith (actor BY 1985) - 5 Confirmed
Dark House (visual checked)
Escapee (visual checked)
Snitch (visual checked)
Straw Dogs (visual checked)
Super (visual checked)

Tim J. Smith (actor BY 1985) - 3 Confirmed
Drive Angry 3D aka Hell Driver (visual checked)
Jeff Who Lives At Home (visual checked)
The Baytown Outlaws (visual checked)
Snitch (invalid)

T. Joel Smith (actor BY 1985) - 0 Confirmed
The Killing Room

You also asked
Quote:

why was not a BY requested. to many work?

No it is not too much work, you remember people contributing request the BY's and a BY is only going to be reqyested if a user finds the cross link in their collection.

So you should maybe request the BY by using the documentation provided and this post proves the common name of the 1985 Tim Smith.

Did I understand you correctly?

Although the CLT has his other name variant as well T. Joel Smith - But only one title (The Killing Room) so that would not affect the common name, but should be noted.

the problem is, that i have common names in my profiles without any documentation.

after searching for a common name thread and a precisely check with clt i change the name to name as credited.

and now ...

many NO voters! like:

"Contribution notes do not explain where this data comes from and how checked. Common Name Thread."

"Then make a common name thread, but your notes tell nothing how this was generated."

"Start a common name thread and check it out."

why is it up to me to prove the right name? i credit as credited. and all NO voters can not tell me where the common name comes from. what is the better way? first time using the correct credited names and then solve any problems. or use a common name without any documentation?

there a four contributions pending with same problem. the results are described in this forum. and all was wrong credited or use imdb names.

Well the rules state you must use the CLT or you have to document a difference from the CLT

But if you change a common name and you used the CLT just put the CLT numbers in the notes, note whether you counted the titles manually or you are using the raw numbers

If you do not use the CLT in any form then you need to document it in a thread like this.  For example link to this post for Tim Smith 1985 - http://www.invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=732418&PageNum=1&messageID=2295077#M2295077

Because you did the work that proves it.  And there it is.

Well by the research you have done you have documented the CLT is correct

You can reference this thread.

If you have people voting NO incorrectly reach out to them with a PM.  Also adjust your notes if needed.

In addition point out that the rules state to use the CLT.  IMO if people vote NO saying "Open a common name thread" are in direct violation of the voting rules.

Quote:

If a user is following the Contribution Rules and his/her data is accurate, and the contribution replaces data which is inaccurate or violates these Contribution Rules, a "No" vote is considered an abuse of the voting privilege and should be avoided when possible.

Now if a conclusive common name thread exists that says differently than the CLT then a NO vote is appropriate.  However if what you submitted falls within the rules and is properly documented then if the people voting NO are so concerned they can open a thread.  They could of course ask you to open a thread because they suspect a data issue, but they cannot force the issue with a NO vote.  Instead they should either do a YES vote with a comment, or PM you and discuss it.

Now I have not seen your contribution so I don't know everything about it.  So I may be way off base.

However like I said, reach out to the people via a PM.  If it is easy to satisfy the issue, then do so and move on.  It is always best to work with people and not against them.

But as for Tim Smith (1985) you have done that by validating the titles and putting them in a thread.

EDIT:
But also along the same lines, if you know that the numbers are skewed and by either counting titles manually, or but counting CLT titles manually based on role or filmography does not give you what looks like a correct result then you should be opening a thread first anyway.  Even if it is the case like this one where you have all the titles, because n this case it is documented now.

they can open a thread <- that would be my wish.

but i put following in my contribution.

"if you do not like this contribution, please put a common name thread to forum and clarify your statement."

without any response ... and this is really frustrating.

i hope that it becomes better in future.
