Really annoying bug, I kept wondering where all my custom entries went... turns out it will override (without any notification at all) any entry that has the same upc code.  I'm guessing this is because it uses upc as its unique identifier.  I kept adding entries with no upc code (AV Geeks, VHS transfers, etc), and they kept dissapearing!  Finally wised up and am now making up invalid upc codes for them.

Manual profiles (To be created on the Desktop version) would be the best option for this.

"Correcting" existing profiles is what comes when choosing the "Update All Profiles"  option. The program cannot know that you are using a UPC for a different profile. So in fact we are not talking about a "Bug" here, but about "Working As Designed", which just doesn't fit your needs.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Granted, lets just call this a feature request then... to allow for creating custom profiles from the mobile app.  It confused me to a large extent because it gave me the option to add a no-upc disk from the mobile app, but as soon as I add another it overwrote the last one.  Hence that's what I thought of as a bug.

Via online database. Upload it to your online account with your old iPad and download it again with the iPad Air. Piece of cake

If you add an entry on the iOS device with UPC "off", the program creates an ID for it automatically. Each entry gets its own unique ID.

Uploading and downloading collections with entries like this is fully supported.  If you have a reproducible case where this isn't functioning correctly, please let us know so we can correct the problem.
