Common name threads are amusing. The task sounds simple enough: compare one name. But this task is too complex for some people, like you.

Best yet is the people who can not copy credits from the actual screen credits. You have to be a special kind of stupid to mess that up.

The point was that the credit was for  Michael Johns(t)on, and not P. Michael Johns(t)on
I posted an actual screen cap. So I mispelled Johns(t)on...a typo. If that makes me stupid as you imply, (I guess that makes you smart), so be it. I can live with it.

edit

You and bbbbb are right in a way.....I don't use common names or the online database at all, thus have no business posting in common name threads.
Don't know what possessed me to suddenly get involved. Think I'll keep my nose out from now on, and leave the online to the experts, such as yourself.
Happy name hunting.

wasn't a comment on that or you. I've misspelled confirmation names.  It was a comment in general. Example - just did a edit and the contribution notes say cast and crew from disc credits, but how to you get an on screen credit of Cathy Herd when the film credit is Catherine Lemkau or the other 10 incorrect names in the existing profile, unless it was mined from IMDB (which it was since there are no commas) and was lied in the contribution notes. Which screws with the CLT for common names. So now there needs to be a common name thread to show the correct credited name for a film, in the hopes that someone will fix the incorrect credits and link them to a common name if needed. Which seldom is done.

We strive for truthfulness, and precision, especially in the name confirming threads. E.g. there are no typos in screen caps.
