I have been unable to sync my Google Nexus 7 tablet with my PC for a number of months.  The probem is that the process times out - frequently at the Reading Database stage, or if it gets past there, it just sits at Copying Profiles until the PC shows 0 connected

Unfortunately, this means that changes made on the table never get synced to the PC, and any new DVDs in the PC instance never reach the tablet, which kinda makes the tablet a bit useless...

I've uploaded my collection to the website, and downloaded a it to a different database on the tablet, but of course the changes are still not there.  Also, cover scans for profiles that have been modified (possibly I've added one where there was none in the original profile) don't go into the online database - it appears they are pulled from the central database.

Any suggestions?

I've obviously tried rebuilding the database several times to no avail.

Just out of curiosity: did you add dvd cover images?

I usually only sync when there are changes in either direction - Possibly I've added DVDs, possibly updated after watching.  Every sync attempt since early March has failed.  Prior to that the problem was intermittent.

And yes, I have cover images.  Normally I add DVDs on the PC and sync them to the tablet.  Either way, when syncing, the tablet reports that changes are sent successfully, then times out during either the database read or the update process.

I had the same troubles...
What I found out was because of the image sizes..
Since I will be looking at the images on a smaller screen than my PC, I used a program that would compress (Caesium) the images with little image quality loss and set the image to the maximum size that my tablet would display, once I did that the images loaded onto my table.

Well, I've tried that, and reduced the size of the cover folder by about 500MB.

However, It seems to have made no difference.

I start the sync process, and get the usual Connecting and Sending changes ticks.  Reading database takes a long time - about 10 minutes -(and before that finishes, the status bar on the PC switches from 1 Connected to 0 connected..

Reading database completes, and the tablet has been sitting at Copying profiles with no changes on the progress bar for about an hour so far...

For whatever reason, the last 2 days, I cannot make a connection between my PC and my phone. I have restarted all my devices including the router. The internet on my PC and the WiFi connection on my phone work fine. Just not DVDP.

That could be your firewall getting in the way after an update.  I have had that in the past.
