First, the site is telling me I am a "free" user, but I'm not.  I just purchased it via PayPal.

But I'd like to learn if there is a way to import movies already cataloged in Access (or CSV) into it without having to scan 100's of cases.

Thanx!

You are not free anymore, you are a "DVD Profiler Unlimited Registrant" now. Gotcha!

Export a list of UPCs from your Access database, and add it here:

DVD -> Add to Collection... -> Add by UPC -> Add Multiple... -> Load UPC file...

says the website recognizes you as a paying user.

That heavily relies on WHAT you want to import and whether you have UPCs/EANs.
DVD Profiler uses a combination of UPCs/EANs and Locality to identify a title.
So for pure "I have that title" the UPC-list import bbbbb described is the way to go.

If you want to carry over personal information like date of purchase, price, unwatched/watched etc it is possible, but needs a bit of work.

This question has been asked and answered many times. I wish I could give a list of links to posts. Perhaps you can do a search using some of the answers in this thread to suggest keywords.

Couple of quick notes:

(1) As has been said, you can bulk import a set of Profile ID's (Add Multiple). To get the definition of what a Profile ID is, do a search - I for one, have described it in detail more than once. This will work if you have no "personal data", such as notes and purchase prices.

(2) If you have personal data, you can upload much of it using the plugin "BulkEdit" Load Personal Data function. Instructions for the format of the CSV file can be found here: http://www.invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=295144&PageNum=37&messageID=2172135#M2172135

I hope you can find those posts. There are several with specific step by step details. Also, there is a Wiki that might have some more organized tips and hints.

Then come back and ask specific questions on stuff you don't understand or if something didn't work. Then we can laser focus on what you need to be successful.

One more thing, BulkEdit can also load complete profiles from CSV. The CSV format should be compatible with the CSV Export plugin. See more details in those plugin threads.

Good luck!

Please come back and let us know how it goes. Surprising few people do, so it would be appreciated.
