Hello,

just want to check here if there's a solution for my problem at all, or if I have to "give up" my DVDprofiler... Hope this is the correct sub forum?

So here is my issue: I used to run the DVDprofiler on PC, but have a Mac for quite a few years now.

I managed to set up a virtual Windows on my Mac but I can't get it to run properly. It's just a pain  . I just use the virtual setup for the DVDprofiler. Like I said it's a mess  and  therefore very uncomfortable to use.

So I was thinking for some time now to finally buy the android app... Before I do, the question  is - how do I get my collection to the app on my phone?

A connection from my phone to my emulated Windows on the Mac is not possible / not an option.

Is it possible to synch my phone / the app with my already existing online collection? And if so - how?

The plan for the future was to just use the phone as a device for updating my collection. I don't do anything else with the profiler. I use it just to keep track which title I have.

Is there a chance to realize that plan?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance &
Greetings

If you can upload the collection on your computer, then downloading from online is one of the options on computer.

Fascinating. Wo invents all these one-post users from 2007? And why?

Thanks for the fast answer Mr. Draven. Yeah, but I try to get my collection to my phone, so I can "manage" it from this device. Or have I misunderstood your answer?

Hehe, like I said. I just used the profiler for keeping track of my collection. So no need to post in the forum in my case.

Upload your data from the emulator to your online collection, then download your online collection on mobile.

Hi,

so it worked like a charm. Everything is fine. Thanks again for the help here.

One last question regarding the app. Is there a function where I can re-number my collection. If I want to give a new entry another number than the suggested?

For example my newest entry is number 1500 and I want to put number 1500 down to number 650. How do I renumber the whole collection in the app? After I gave Number 1500 the new number 650. I know there was a function for that in the PC version. Can't find something similar in the app...

Yes, you can. Go in to the profile you want in the app, then click on the pencil (edit) icon at the top. You can change the collection # from there.

Hi,

thanks for answering. That I know. But when I give the new entries new numbers like in my example number 1500 becomes number 650... then there is the new 650, and the old one. So I got two 650s in my collection... So, is it possible to re-number my whole collection, so I haven't have any double numbers if you know what I
mean... I know there is an option on PC, but in the app?

Unless I'm missing something (which is entirely possible), I don't think the app has a renumbering function like the desktop version. It looks like a manual renumbering is the only way to do it within the app. I can imagine that becomes far too cumbersome to do with a sizeable database.

Thought so. Thanks anyway.

Maybe its a feature worth implementing in the future?
