Like many here, I've been using DVD Profile since version 1 and part of the lure with DVDProfiler is not so much the lack of a subscription fee, which many of us would gladly pay, but it is still the most complete movie database on the planet. Back when it looked like we were never going to get version 4, I looked at other options, as I'm sure many others here did as well, and they simply weren't up to snuff. Even DVD Collector, if I were to pull 10 random horror movies from my collection 3-5 of them would not exist. DVD Collector also does not handle collections or box sets very well.

Being in Canada, I have noticed over the last couple years we've lost some of our "power contributors" as more and more people abandon physical collections. I always seem to have a stack under my desk that I need to add, which can be incredibly time consuming, especially for sets. There really isn't much to be done, but suck it up, but it certainly begins to limit the usefulness when you get more and more you have to add yourself. The other option, of course, is to search and add the same items just with a different UPC, which I have done in the past, but makes rescanning the collection more cumbersome now that so many do not exist.

All of these that are standing on end do not exist in the database, and this is only about 1/4 of my collection.
