But I don't think it should contributed twice (disc id AND upc/ean). Keep in mind, that each and every profile has to be maintained in the data base. Doubling the profile means half the contribution force on each of them to maintain them...

However, I agree with AiAustria that it shouldn't be submitted twice, under both Disc ID and EAN. Again, the contribution rules, immediately below the bit I just quoted, state: "When creating a new profile for contribution, the preferred method is to create from the UPC number", so that's what I would use here. We only use Disc ID's when we have to, when there's no alternative. But if there's a UPC/EAN, then that's the preferred method, so I see no need for a Disc-ID-based profile here. | | | | Last edited: by T!M |
