Herbert West is obsessed with the idea of bringing the dead back to life. Experimenting with a glowing green fluid, he sucessfully reanimates dead tissue. Unfortunately, the dead are uncontrollable and difficult to subdue. Dr. Carl Hill, West's instructor, is determined to steal his secret and take all the credit for the discovery. Herbert isn't willing to give it up so easily... no matter what the consequences are! Stylishly directed by Stuart Gordon (From Beyond), this film adaption of the short story "Herbert West: The Reanimator" is a non-stop gore fest filled with wit and humor.

Easter Eggs
There is a very entertaining hidden feature on Elite Entertainment's release of the Stuart Gordon classic 'Re-Animator.'

As you can tell from the packaging of the disc, this DVD release of this cultish gorefest features a commentary track by the cast. However, as it turns out, this commentary track is not limited to the movie presentation itself.

If you go to the movie's trailer presentation with the commentary track turned on, you will actually get to hear the cast members comment on the trailer itself, as well as the 'Early promotional spot' on the disc. It all eventually climaxes with Barbara Cramptons infamous scream at the end... live!
