Physikstudent Crawford Tillinghast und Dr. Edward Pretorius experimentieren mit einem sogenannten Resonator, der die Zirbeldrüse im Gehirn anregen soll, um verborgene psychische Kräfte zu fördern. Dabei entsteht jedoch eine Art Riß in ein anderes Universum, aus dem fremde Wesen in unseres eindringen. Nachdem Dr. Pretorius von jenen Wesen vermeintlich getötet wird, hält man sich an den verstörten und des Mordes verdächtigen Tillinghast, um mit ihm die Vorgänge in dem Haus zu untersuchen. Die Ärztin Dr. Katherine McMichaels kehrt zusammen mit dem Polizisten Buford „Bubba“ Brownlee und Tillinghast in das Haus von Dr. Pretorius ein, um das verhängnisvolle Experiment zu wiederholen. Doch dies erweist sich schnell als eine fatale Entscheidung, die eine Bedrohung für die gesamte Menschheit darstellt… |
