Denne nervepirende psykologiske thriller, som blev belønnet med en Oscar, er en af de bedste gysere nogensinde. Filmatiseringen af Stephen King's roman af den Oscar-belønnede manuskriptforfatter William Goldman (All the President's Men) blev instrueret af Rob Reiner, og denne grusomme film med Kathy Bates og James Caan i hovedrollerne er en Hitchcock-lignende katten-efter-musen-leg mellem to sind - det ene er skarpt som en knivsæg, det andet tungt som en forhammer.
